Sheikh Maqsoud.. Continuous siege and insufficient aid

 The aid that entered Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods did not alleviate the difficult living situation for the people affected by the earthquake.

 On February 20, the Damascus government allowed the entry of a number of trucks loaded with part of the international aid provided to the Syrian people, in light of the continued blockade that impedes the passage of fuel, medicines, flour and infant formula.

 In this regard, Amal Ahmed Dasherni, a displaced woman in the Ashrafieh camps, said, "We have been here since the first day of the earthquake. We have children, me and my neighbors. We were displaced after our houses collapsed. We are 3 families. We live in this tent here, and we face many difficulties."

 Amal confirmed that "the humanitarian aid that reached the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods was very little. Those affected here need aid."

 Amal denounced the siege of the Damascus government, despite the current humanitarian situation."

 Amal called on humanitarian organizations to help the people in this catastrophic situation, as the people cannot even go to their homes to bring what they need.

 At the end of her speech, Amal said, "Our young children need milk, food, and basic necessities, as the living situation in the two neighborhoods is very bad, even some businesses have stopped, as the general situation has become very difficult."

 It is noteworthy that the General Council of the neighborhoods of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh had indicated in its latest report that about 60,000 people were internally displaced from the two neighborhoods, and identified the most important needs of the residents of the two neighborhoods in numbers and statistics.
