​​​​​​​Feminist Orgs contribute to provide aid to Sheikh Maqsoud, Ashrafieh neighbourhoods

A number of active feminist organizations in a number of countries of the world sent sums of money to the Syrian Women's Council in Aleppo, which in turn converted them into food supplies and prepared food baskets and distributed them to the people residing in the neighborhoods of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh and those affected by the earthquake, and began distributing them to families from today.

The spokeswoman for the Syrian Women's Council in the Aleppo office, Haifa Hassan, said that they have distributed 400 food baskets and are now in the process of distributing another 400 baskets, which include canned food and legumes.

And Haifa added, "We, as a Syrian Women's Council, our work revolves around the social and political aspects, and we care about educating women. But after the disaster of the earthquake, an Austrian organization coordinated with the Syrian Women's Council, and money was sent by it to prepare food baskets."

Haifa denounced the siege imposed on the two neighborhoods and the scarcity of humanitarian aid that arrived, and said: "The main problem we were facing was not in the earthquake, but rather in the siege that is still imposed on the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods. Aid was prevented from entering, and the aid that entered the two neighborhoods is very little and not It fully covers the needs of the people, as Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood embraced all the peoples of the region, even from the areas of the Damascus government.

It is noteworthy that the neighborhoods of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh have been suffering from siege for years, but the people in the two neighborhoods have always been hand in hand to overcome this economic crisis.
