Conference "Freedom for Ocalan...Peace, Stability in World" concludes its first day's work

 The third axis of the conference was titled "Power and the Old Nation-State System in the Middle East," and the session was moderated by human rights activist Siham Semaei.

 In the beginning, Krish Kovender, a jurist from Durban, South Africa, spoke about systems, laws, democracy, and preserving rights in the basic principles of states.  Pointing out that the nation-state kills rights and turns them into a weapon against the people.

 He touched on the governments of the Middle East, pointing out that some countries say that they built their state system on the basis of the Islamic religion or the Christian religion.  Pointing out that Sunni and Shiite Muslims, as well as Protestant and Catholic Christians, interpret religion in accordance with their interests.

 He also talked about Europe and Africa, and said that South African laws were built on democracy, and that the role of jurists is focused on that, but he pointed out that some laws deviate from their basic objectives and the need to pay attention to these points.

 He pointed out the danger of countries not adhering to their laws, and said: Turkey has lost its way because it strayed from its rights. He pointed out that Erdogan violated human rights in Turkey and arrested all those who opposed him and imprisoned them.  He noted his elimination of civil society institutions and control of all aspects of government in the country.

He explained that the country where there is no justice is blocking the path to politics and democracy.  He said: Countries such as Turkey, which lack laws and rights, cannot develop anything in it.

 In turn, Pais Vilakati, Secretary General of the Communist Party in Swaziland, North Africa, said: They support the rights of oppressed peoples, and added: "Everyone must define their position on human rights," pointing out that when there is no support, the party that struggles remains alone.

 He touched on his country and said: It is a small country located near Mozambique with a population of 2 million. He said that the government should pay attention to its people, and the peoples of that region formed a unified magazine in the name of friendship.  The government of their country forbids talking about the Kurdish people, indicating that their people were subjected to a massacre in 2020 as well as in the following year, but no one heard of their suffering, because the media did not address their case.

 He demanded the freedom of leader Ocalan, "We are convinced that if Ocalan is not liberated, freedom and democracy will not be achieved in the region. He stressed the need for the oppressed peoples to support each other, and affirmed their support for the Kurdish and Palestinian peoples."

 Finally, he touched on the policy followed by the capitalist system to make people hostile to each other, and said that they benefit a lot from the experience of northern and eastern Syria, especially the struggle of Kurdish women.

 Jurist and member of the Ellrich Organization, Dale McKinley, talked about the nation-state model in the Middle East and the world, and the United States and the United Kingdom as an example, and said: The nation-state is the greatest scourge on the Kurdish people in Rojava and in Turkey. He said let us wonder: Why is the nation-state suffering from crises  .

He touched on the problems that the nation-state suffers from and its regimes cut the way for development and democracy, and said that the nation-state has turned into a monarchy for the fascist regimes.

 He touched on the disadvantages of the nation-state and said that rights, laws, duties and workers are not talked about, but only nationalism and its glorification.  "The relationship between the nation-state and the capitalist system must be well understood. He emphasized that the nation-state is part of the capitalist system. Explaining: The nation-state is established under different names, whether religion, nationalism, or anti-something, noting that when these systems suffer blockage, the people who lead change, do not dwell on its failed system.

 In the Middle East, such as Turkey, Israel and Jordan, we see very well that the nation-state is built on the basis of domination.

 Turning to the revolutions that the region witnessed, he said: When these revolutions are victorious, they also turn into a dominant power over the people.  In conclusion, he said that no one wants peoples to be liberated.  He said that we must build a fair system that preserves the environment and guarantees the freedom and rights of women.

He expressed his belief that the Kurds will prevail over the capitalist system and the nation-state and bring security and peace to the region, as is the case in Rojava.  He concluded: The democratic confederation proposed by the leader Ocalan is capable of achieving a beautiful life for all peoples.

 "People's Struggles"

 While the fourth axis of the conference was titled "People's Struggles", its session was moderated by journalist Mansour Jaafar from the Kurdish Action Group for Human Rights in South Africa.

 In this axis, Fred Isak of the African Group for the Support of Palestine spoke, and indicated that his first article on the Kurds was 31 years ago when he touched on their situation and their struggle for freedom.

 Isak explained that the Kurds have been subjected to injustice for more than 200 years, and pointed out that Turkey oppresses the Kurds in the name of Islam under various pretexts, and said, unfortunately, those who oppress the Kurds are Muslims, and touched on the attacks of ISIS mercenaries on the Kurdish people as well.

 He pointed out that the ruling regimes of Kurdistan have always sought to promote that the Kurds are hostile to Islam in order to incite the people against them, and said: This is not true, as Turkey says that Muslims are brothers and equal in rights and duties, but it deprives the Kurds of their rights.  He referred to the Islamic system that Erdogan seeks to implement in Turkey.

 Zine El Abidine Gaddafi of the Zakzaky organization active in Africa to organize people, began his speech by saying: Down with Erdogan.  He talked about how they organized the peoples of Africa, referring to the poverty and ignorance that Africans suffer from.  He pointed out that the regimes exploit the people and said that when they try to close brothels and drug centers, they are attacked by the ruling regimes and lawsuits are opened against them.

At the end of his speech, he called for the need for the oppressed to support each other, and said that we want to cooperate with these peoples in order to achieve the desired change.

 The conference concluded the work of its first day after discussing the third and fourth axes, and it is scheduled to resume the work of tomorrow, Wednesday.
