SOHR:13 murder cases in Damascus govt-controlled areas during month

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that 13 murders have committed in Damascus-held areas since the beginning of February, this proves the fragility of the security situation and the state of chaos in addition to the absence of legal accountability.

Murders continue within the areas under the control of the Damascus government, at an almost constant rate that escalates from time to time, in light of the failure of the security services to put an end to security chaos that is rampant throughout its regions.

According to what the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has documented, 13 deliberate killings have committed since the beginning of February, some of which are due to domestic violence or motives for theft, and others are still unknown, twelve people were killed: two children, two women and 10 men.

The first month of this year recorded the occurrence of 34 deliberate killings in the Damascus government-controlled areas, killing 35 people, bringing the number of murders committed there since the beginning of the year to 47, which shows the extent of the deterioration of the security situation in the government-controlled areas. Damascus.

This statistic opens the door to questions about the reasons for the dangerous increase in the crime rate in those areas, in addition to the media blackout by the Damascus government, which made these incidents permissible within society without showing its seriousness in resolving these issues and holding the perpetrators accountable.
