After 9 days of Turkish refusal, AANES decided to return relief aid

After 9 days at the Um Jaluod crossing in Manbij, where the Turkey state is preventing the passage of aid allocated by the Autonomous Administration to the afflicted in the occupied areas, where the latter decided to withdraw its aid.

The Autonomous Administration had prepared 30 tanks of fuel and 20 trucks loaded with humanitarian and relief aid on the 8th of February, two days after a devastating earthquake hit northern Kurdistan and parts of Turkey, and hit large parts of Syria, including the occupied areas in the northwest of the country.

The Autonomous Administration made strenuous efforts to deliver this aid to the afflicted in the occupied areas, but these efforts were rejected by the Turkish occupation state.

During these days, civil delegations from the occupied territories tried to mediate in order to deliver aid, but the Turkish occupation state obstructed these mediations, thus depriving the afflicted of the opportunity to benefit from the aid they desperately need.

After 9 days of waiting, the Autonomous Administration was forced to take a decision to withdraw this aid,

AANES is scheduled to issue a statement in this regard later in the day.
