Death toll, injured in Syria's earthquake climbs 8685 victims

On Monday, a 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck northern Kurdistan, Turkey, and northern and central Syria. It also affected the regions of northern and eastern Lebanon, as its aftershocks spread across the eastern Mediterranean region, leaving thousands of victims and great destruction so far.

The death toll and the injured increased in the areas under the control of the Turkish occupation state as the statistics in those areas indicated that 2030 people lost their lives and more than 2950 others were injured, and the number is likely to keep increasing, as there are hundreds of families under the rubble.

Yesterday, during a press conference, the Minister of Health in the Damascus government, Dr. Hassan Muhammad Al-Ghobash, stated that the death toll from the earthquake rose on Thursday, as 1,347 lost their lives and 2,295 people were injured, in an indefinite toll.

It is worth noting that the Ministry of Health's report includes the areas under the control of the Damascus government only, and it did not include the rest of the Syrian regions.

There has also been no change in the outcome of the Health Body in NE Syria, as the number of victims and injured remains the same in NE Syria, which reached 6 victims and 57 injured.
