6 lost their lives, 19 injured as earthquake hits NE Syria

The earthquake, which measured 7.4 on the Richter scale, struck at dawn Bakur (northern Kurdistan), Turkey, northern and central Syria, and affected the regions of northern and eastern Lebanon, and its aftershocks spread to the eastern Mediterranean region, as a result of:

6 people lost their lives in the neighborhoods of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh in Aleppo city. Sandra Ibo (11 years old), Rawan Ibrahim (16 years old), and Khaled Hamo (28 years old) were known until the moment the news was prepared. In addition, 11 other including a child were injured.

In the city of Kobani, 3 injuries were reported to the city's hospitals, which are two young men and a woman, and they are: Sultan Abdullah Galo (23 years old), Amina Hajj Muslim (52 years old), and Farhad Mahmoud Mustafa (25 years old).

In Manbij, two injuries were reported to hospitals, one of them critical.

Furthermore, 3 people were injured in al-Shahba canton, they are Zahr al-Din Jaber (60 years), Dilshan Hamliko (36 years), Abdo Habib Alo (4 years), as a result of the collapse of parts of their homes in the district of Tal Rifaat and the villages of Babnis and Tal Qarah.

The earthquake also resulted in material damage to dozens of homes and buildings of the people in different regions of NE Syria. Al-Shahba district, Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood, and Ashrafieh were the most affected areas, due to the spread of houses and buildings that threatened to collapse.

In a precautionary step to protect the people whose homes are threatened with collapse in the two neighborhoods, the General Council of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods allocated shelters for the people until their homes are secured.
