​​​​​​​Statement on ninth anniversary of  AA in Afrin

 The statement was attended by dozens of members of civil bodies and institutions, and political parties, in the main square of Sardam camp, located in Al-Ahadath sub-district in Al-Shahba canton.

 The statement was read by the two members of the Afrin and al-Shahba canton councils, Berivan Khalil in the Kurdish language, and Faiq Ahmed in the Arabic language.

 The statement reminded of the democratic model followed in Afrin canton before the Turkish occupation, "We as the peoples of northern and eastern Syria followed the third line represented by the philosophy of the democratic nation and the brotherhood of peoples and a belief in women's freedom based on the common cultural, social and historical heritage in isolation from the struggle for power and interests that do not serve that cultural and historical legacy of the components  of the region was declared the Democratic Autonomous Administration in Afrin on 1/29/2014, which was a historical event. It is the fruit of the struggle and sacrifices of the martyrs, as it consolidated the principles of freedom, democracy and communal life, which contributed to the development of the infrastructure and the institutional system at all levels. It ensured security, safety and stability. The administration in Afrin canton, has become a destination for everyone looking for security and safety from the regime and the mercenary factions of various names.

 The statement pointed to the conspiracy of the international forces in the process of occupying Afrin, "and this situation was not accepted by the Turkish occupation state and its mercenaries, as it directed those extremist factions to occupy Afrin, attacking it with various advanced weapons and warplanes, with direct support from the Turkish occupation army and approval of the guarantor countries and in front of the eyes  the world".

 The statement praised the resistance of the people of Afrin, "but its sons and daughters resisted with steel will in face of all kinds of advanced and internationally prohibited weapons for 58 days and wrote the most wonderful heroic epics such as (Barin - Avesta - Ilan) through the Resistance of the Age that the whole world witnessed."

The statement highlighted the continuous Turkish crimes in occupied Afrin, "and after the occupation of Afrin and the displacement of its original inhabitants, the Turkish occupation state is still practicing terrible violations against man and nature and is building settlements with the aim of changing the demographic composition of the population and settling strangers instead of its original inhabitants in Afrin."

 The statement also drew attention to the trade-offs taking place on the Syrian people, "Any Syrian-Turkish rapprochement will not bring solutions to the Syrian crisis due to the lack of representation of the real decision-makers in those meetings, which were the reason for deepening the Syrian crisis."  There is no alternative to the solution but the Syrian dialogue to find a political and democratic solution in order to build a new, democratic, pluralistic and decentralized Syria.

The statement stressed the need to continue the resistance, "and despite the conditions of forced displacement, the people emphasized the start of the Resistance of the Age in its second phase until the liberation of Afrin, the areas of al-Shahba, and all the occupied Syrian lands."

 In turn, we promise our martyrs and our people that we will continue the resistance until the liberation of Afrin, the areas of al-Shahba and all Syrian lands.
