International delegation against isolation meets families of Imrali detainees

 Members of the international delegation against isolation, which includes 36 lawyers, journalists and academics from seven different countries, continue to hold a series of meetings in the city of Amed in northern Kurdistan.

 The delegation met each of;  Muhammad Ocalan, the brother of the leader Abdullah Ocalan, and the parliamentarian in the HDP, Omar Ocalan, the nephew of the leader Abdullah Ocalan. He also met with Fayqa Aktash, the mother of the detainee Wiessi Aktash, and Ali Kunar, the brother of the detainee Omar Khairy Kunar.

 After the meeting was closed to the media, the families of the detainees organized a press conference on the results of the meeting.

 Omar Ocalan spoke about the meeting, saying: "Activists and representatives of institutions from outside the country came to visit us. We revealed to them the violations in Imrali. There is no such thing as rights in Imrali Island where human rights are violated. With our unity, we will fail these human rights violations. We know that Kurdistan and Turkey suffer from lawlessness in one country affects other countries.

 We attach great importance to this visit.  We want the lawyers to go to Imrali as well, and to meet the leader Abdullah Ocalan.  This is our legal right.  The Kurdish question is very important.  Everyone understands its importance.  The leader must be met so that our people can live in peace.  We want to know the health of the leader.  International solidarity is important for the Kurdish people, too.  Our struggle with leader Ocalan's paradigm continues.  Isolation must be lifted before anything else."

 The gates of Imrali must be opened

 Muhammad Ocalan, brother of leader Abdullah Ocalan, said: "What happened in Imrali is a black stain for everyone. No one should accept it. If there is a law in Turkey, it should be applied in Imrali as well. This is our request. We have not seen anything like this anywhere in the world."  "We call on everyone to make efforts immediately. The parties outside the HDP are silent in this regard. This is unacceptable and wrong. The doors of Imrali must be opened."

 "We don't want anything else but peace," said Veyka Aktaş's mother, Veyka Aktaş.

 In the coming days, the delegation is scheduled to visit the Union of Legal Societies, the Association for Supporting the Families of Detainees and Detainees, MED TÛHAD-FED, and Mothers of Peace.
