General Command of YPJ offers condolences to families' victims of Sheikh Maqsoud

The General Command of the Women's Protection Units offered condolences to the families of the victims of the collapse of a building in Sheikh Maqsoud, and wished a speedy recovery for the injured.

And about the collapse of a building in Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood in Aleppo, the General Command of the Women's Protection Units issued a written statement on its official page.

The text of the statement read:

"We are with our people who resisted and pioneered the people's revolutionary war in Sheikh Maqsoud. We, as the leadership of the Women's Protection Units, share with our people their grief and concerns as a result of the collapse of the building. As a result of the collapse of a building, 16 of our citizens lost their lives with a number of wounded. We offer condolences to the families of the victims and our patriotic people, and we wish for an urgent recovery for the wounded.

Our patriotic people in the neighborhood of Sheikh Maqsoud, al-Shahba and Afrin, since the beginning of the revolution to this day, have shown unparalleled resistance. The blockade imposed on our people is one of the methods of the policy of breaking the will of the people. This is the situation that our people live in as a result of the war in the region. Most of the existing buildings were damaged in the war, and as a result of the lack of material capabilities of our people, they are forced to live in these buildings. Our people live a very difficult life and are exposed every day to the threats of the Turkish occupation. On the other hand, they live under the siege imposed by the Baath regime. Although the Syrian regime has no right to impose a siege on our people in the region, and in light of these humanitarian conditions, the Syrian regime does not abandon its policy of imposing surrender on the people.

And because any force did not fulfill its humanitarian duty towards the conditions our people are going through, we as a people took the decision to decide our fate in our own hands, so once again we will heal our wounds with our essential strength. We repeat our condolences to the families of the victims and all our people.”
