​​​​​​​Armenian social council rejects isolation on leader Ocalan

The Turkish occupation state continues to reject all requests submitted by the lawyer and family of the leader Abdullah Ocalan to meet with him, amid a new arbitrary decision banning meetings with him for another 3 months under the pretext of "disciplinary penalties.”

The co-chair of the Armenian Social Council in al-Hasakah canton, Lucin Erdemyan, denounced this strict isolation, and the Turkish occupation state's continuation of its inhumane policies against him and preventing his family and lawyers from meeting with him.

Lucin noted that the isolation and rejection of the requests of lawyers and the family is an indication of its rejection and denial of the existence of the peoples of Kurdistan in general and the Kurds in particular, and aims to eliminate their identity and freedom, stressing that "the goal of the Turkish occupation state to tighten the isolation of the leader Ocalan is to break the will of the peoples of Kurdistan."

On the failure of the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture, CPT, in performing its duties regarding isolation, Lucin criticized its silence, and said: "This silence indicates its support for Turkish policies."

The European Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT) visited Imrali prison in September of last year, but the human rights office concerned with defending the leader Ocalan said on November 29 of the same year that, according to the information it received, the committee did not meet the leader during these visits.

At the end of her speech, Lucin called on all the peoples of Kurdistan to rise up in the face of the policies of the Turkish occupation state and thwart them, and to continue their activities condemning the strict isolation of the leader Abdullah Ocalan to achieve his physical freedom.
