Department of Foreign Relations meets with the US envoy to NES

 The envoy and his accompanying delegation were received by the co-chair of the Foreign Relations Department, Badran Çiya Kurd, and the two vice-co-chairs, Fener Al-Kait, Rubel Baho, and a member of the administrative body, Gulistan Ali, according to the official website of the department.

 During the meeting that took place today, the latest developments in the Syrian arena in general and northern and eastern Syria in particular were discussed, and the rapprochement between the Damascus government and the Turkish occupation state.

 Badran Çiya Kurd, during the meeting, stressed the need for a comprehensive political solution with a Syrian consensus in all its sects without imposing foreign political agendas in accordance with the interests of non-Syrians.  So far that has reached a dead end.

 For his part, the American envoy affirmed that their position is clear regarding the political solution that the Syrians must agree on among themselves, and work in accordance with UN Resolution 2254, and that they stress the political change in the positions of the Damascus government, in addition to the fact that there are a number of obstacles that will face this process of normalization.

 The meeting also dealt with the Turkish threats to invade northern and eastern Syria, coinciding with the activity of ISIS.

 In the context, Çiya Kurd indicated that the Turkish threat and its bombing continues, and what Turkey pretexts that there is a threat from this region to its national security is a slander far from the truth, and he said: "Our forces have never carried out any military action inside Turkey, unlike Turkey that does daily  with these violations. The truth that must be said is that gaining the legitimate rights of the peoples of the region, including the Kurds, is what constitutes a threat to Turkey's security, because its security is linked to the absence of other components in its racist faith.

 He continued, "We must also search for solutions and stability in a more comprehensive way than combating terrorism militarily and security, but rather it must extend to the political and economic aspects."

 For his part, the US envoy added that sustainable solutions must be sought in the region. The necessary ground must be provided between the parties to the conflict, away from military solutions, adding, "We will do our best to maintain the security and stability of the region so that we can defeat ISIS in a sustainable manner."

 While the meeting also discussed mechanisms for bringing humanitarian aid into Syria, and the politicization of the Damascus government to the issue of aid provided to the Syrian people, by excluding areas from the Syrian geography.

 It was emphasized that the continued closure of the Tal Koçer border crossing increases the economic and humanitarian consequences, and is unfair to the millions who live in north and east Syria.
