General Command of Security Forces in Raqqa releases statement

The Internal Security Forces in Raqqa confirmed that they will continue to pursue anyone threatens the security and safety of the region, and praised the great cooperation and sense of security shown by the people of Raqqa, during a statement revealing the outcome of the operations that took place this morning.

The statement of the General Command of the Internal Security Forces in Raqqa, read by the commander, Jiwan Ahmed, during a press conference.

During it, it announced the outcome of the combing operations in Raqqa after the attack of ISIS mercenaries on the center of the Internal Security Forces, near a prison that houses mercenaries.

The statement stated:

"After our forces showed great vigilance and valor in carrying out their duties towards the safety and security of our people and preserving the stability of our regions, striking with an iron fist and pursue ISIS sleeper cells that are working to increase their activity, taking advantage of the threats and aggressions by the Turkish occupation.

The statement added that four martyrs from our forces and two martyrs from the Syrian Democratic Forces sacrificed while responded to the suicide attack that targeted a center of our forces in Raqqa near a prison that houses ISIS detainees.

In retaliation for the martyrs and our belief in our security, humanitarian and legal duty, and as part of the follow-up operations for all suspicious movements and information obtained by our forces, our forces raided several ISIS members hideouts in the city of Raqqa and its countryside, in the morning hours of Friday, December 30. Our forces arrested nine members and seized weapons.
