Immeasurable suffering brought to Sheikh Maksoud-Ashrafiyah due to blockade

Sheikh Maksoud and Ashrafiyah are suffering from the consequences of the blockade imposed by the Fourth Division in the field of health. The country is experiencing a shortage of infant formula along with blood pressure, diabetes, heart and antibiotics.

The management of the Health Council of the Sheikh Maksoud and Ashrafiyah neighbourhoods revealed to ANHA’s agency that the health sector in the neighbourhood is consuming from the Health Council's reserve stock, which will not last long if the blockade continues.

The Department also stated that there was a severe shortage of infant formula.

The neighbourhood needs an urgent supply of blood pressure, diabetes and heart medications.

With the continued blockade and scarcity of fuel and the inability to use heating devices, which depend mainly on fuel, diseases have spread, especially among children and the elderly, such as acute chest infections, amid a shortage of antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medicine, according to the administration of the Sheikh Maksoud and Ashrafiyah Health Council.

In a related context, the administration of the Sheikh Maksoud and Ashrafiya Health Council expressed its fears that Martyr KhalidFajar Hospital would be halted as a result of the shortage of fuel needed to operate generators that supply the hospital with power and medicine.
