European Court of Justice issues its decision on PKK

The European Court of Justice rejected the request submitted by the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in 2021, over its inclusion in the "list of terrorist organizations."

The European Court of Justice in Luxembourg issued its decision regarding the request submitted by the PKK, after 2020, objecting to its inclusion on the "list of terrorist organizations."

The court session on was held on the twenty-second of last June.

The court invoked this allegation, “Even if the allegations related to the responsibility to provide justifications, the right of defense and the violation of the right of effective judicial defense are to some extent justified, but they do not allow the case to be dismissed.”

The court rejected the PKK's objection to the list and ruled that both parties would bear the court's expenses.

The European Court of Justice issued its decision on the issue of removing the PKK from the "list of terrorist organizations", which lasted from 2014 to 2020, on the 30th of last November.

Although the court ruled in its previous decision not to keep the PKK on the list, however the list was renewed under the same pretexts and did not cancel it.
