​​​​​​​ Delegation from the Catalonia Parliament visits NE, Syria

The delegation was received today, Saturday, by the co-chair of the Department of External Relations, Bedran Çiya Kurd, the deputy co-chair, Rubel Baho, and a member of the administrative body, Gulistan Ali.

The two sides discussed the attacks of the Turkish occupation state on North and East Syria and its targeting of infrastructure and service centers, in addition to providing the necessary support to the region.

The co-chair of the Department of Foreign Relations, Bedran Çiya Kurd, referred to the difference between the previous visits of the Catalonia delegations and this visit, addressing the delegation by saying: "The region has witnessed remarkable developments that you will notice on the ground during your visit, whether through Turkish attacks targeting North and East Syria or others."

For his part, a member of the Catalonia parliament, Robin Wangisberg, stressed the importance of their visit and their presence in the region in the current circumstances in the region, and said: "At this time when Turkey is attacking the region and targeting its people, we have come here to show our solidarity with the Autonomous Administration and the people of North ab East Syria, and let's send a message to the world that it's time to show solidarity."

On October 20, 2021, the Parliament of the Catalonia region recognized the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, and affirmed the solidarity of the people of Catalonia with the people of Rojava.
