Protests in Amuda against Turkish attacks and silence of international forces

Hundreds of residents of Amuda district of Qamishlo Canton gathered at the Free Women's Square in the center of the district, holding pictures of leader Abdullah Ocalan and the PKK.

The demonstrators, who carried a large banner bearing the slogan of the demonstration, "With the will of the people and the Guerrillas, we will defeat occupation and treason," chanted slogans denouncing the brutality of the fascist Turkish state and the silence of the international powers.

In Martyr Jihad Square in the center of Amuda, the demonstrators stopped, and after standing a minute of silence for the souls of the martyrs, the co-chair of the Executive Council in the Jazira region, Talaat Younes, delivered a speech condemning the Turkish attacks.

Younes said: "The Turkish and fascist occupation state continues its genocidal attacks against all peoples and components in NE Syria, Şengal and Southern Kurdistan."

Younes considered that the attacks "is evidence of (Turkey's) failure in its policies."

He explained, "The main goal of these attacks is to exterminate the people, strike the project of the Autonomous Administration and the brotherhood of the peoples in NE Syria".

He stressed, " However, they will fail now, with the unity of the peoples and their solidarity around their administration and military forces."

Younes also denounced the silence of the international powers, especially Russia and the international coalition, and said: "The peoples who faced ISIS and  protected humanity from the brutality of ISIS are being attacked under sight of the international forces".
