IHR warns of executing some protesters

According to Roj News Agency, some detainees in the protests were accused of “Haraba (blocking roads for theft and looting) for “setting fire to waste,” and this may lead to the implementation of the death penalty against them.

The director of the Iranian Human Rights Organization, Mahmoud Amiri Moghadam, said: "Execution is the regime's most important tool of repression, the international community should warn the Iranian regime that executing protesters will have dire consequences."

The organization wrote in a report that the defendants faced charges such as "enmity and corruption on earth" in several formal trials in recent days, without observing the basic standards of a fair trial and after being denied access to lawyers.

Among the detainees in the recent protests, citizen Sahand Noor Mohammadzadeh, who was accused by the Iranian judiciary of " setting fire to waste", as well as Abul-Fadl Mehri Hussein Haji Lo, and Manouchehr Mahman Nawaz, who were accused of "enmity by setting fire to the premises and public property".

Saeed Shirazi was also accused of "corrupting the land by inciting and encouraging the people to commit crimes against national security and disturbing public order."

The Iranian judiciary accused the citizen, Mohammad Qabadlo, of "deliberately running over the policemen with a car", which led to the death of one of the policemen, according to the court. In this context, the lawyer, Amir Raisian, wrote in a tweet that the video published by the police about the policeman’s killing “does not correspond to the narrative of the judicial authority in the court.”

According to the report of the Iranian Human Rights Organization, Mahan Sadrat Madani was charged with possessing a knife and “setting a motorcycle on fire.” Saman Yassin was charged with possessing a pistol and firing 3 bullets,” and Muhammad Barogni was charged with “enmity against God".

Mohsen Rezazadeh was also accused of "making Molotov cocktail-type explosives."

The Iranian Human Rights Organization confirmed that "more individuals are at risk of execution in Iran."
