Sheikh Baqi criticizes slackness of Sulaymaniyah authorities in dealing with Turkish crimes

Kurdish politician Jamal Sheikh Baqi pointed out that the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan ‘s PUK position had previously been tougher on Turkish attacks, calling on the latter to shoulder its responsibilities.

Turkish occupying state has expanded its shelling by using UAVs and ground cells in targeting strugglers, national figures, influencers and civilians to strike the region's security and to drag them into the world.

Secretary-General of the Syrian Kurdish Democratic Party Jamal Sheikh Baqi spoke to ANHA’s agency about the objectives of the Turkish occupying state's attacks against the region.

Russia and America turn a blind eye

In this regard, Jamal Sheikh Baqi says that one of the dirty methods used by the occupation in its bombing of the cities of Rojava and Southern Kurdistan is the use of drones. "Without Russia and America turning their sights, the attacks would not have reached this level."

Sheikh Baqi explained: "There is no room for Turkey to launch a large-scale occupation offensive against the region because of the regional and international situation that is not permitted to do so, with these dirty methods that want to undermine the stability of the region and hinder the struggle of the Kurdistan Freedom Movement. The occupation wants to perpetuate war and place the region in a state of permanent war and insecurity and stability.

Turkish occupation UAVs have bombed influential national and revolutionary figures and targeted safe civilians in Sulaymaniyah since early 2022 several times, but the attitude of political parties and forces there is weak to deter Turkey's occupation.

About this, Sheikh Baqi says the PUK should assume its responsibilities as a Kurdistan organization, describing the recent events that have resulted in the fall of martyrs.

In Sheikh Baqi's view, the PUK does not perform its functions fully, asking: "Where are the cells preparing for these actions and who are they, these crimes not only happen by drone, there are those who was martyred by the bullets as well, where are the security institutions of everything that happens, why are they silent about it?.

Sheikh Baqi hopes that the security institutions will cover these events and clarify them: "They must clarify their attitude against the killers and the occupation as against these acts and raise their voice. We have not yet seen a strong attitude towards them. Their attitudes are weak."

Most parties under the influence of PDK and their parallel attitudes towards occupation

Regarding the positions of the political forces in Southern Kurdistan, Sheikh Baqi revealed that most forces are under the influence of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (PDK) and see them as weak and parallel to Kurdistan democracy's attitudes towards Turkish occupation attacks with UAVs.

Sheikh Baqi stated that the PUK's positions were tougher in the past, there was activism and freedom to move the Kurdistan freedom movement, they were threatened by Turkey, they seem to have been affected, we don't know what the PUK wants to say, they have to show their attitude towards the occupation and the killers are responsible in this case, they are responsible for protecting the sovereignty of Suleimaniyah, this sovereignty is being torn.

Sheikh Baqi also referred to Iraq's weak positions and said: "Turkey has built dozens of military and intelligence bases in Kurdistan why they are accepted. Turkish aircraft violate Iraqi territory to a depth of 150 km and bomb Shengal and Makmur and then the officials come out with a statement but they don't actually move and go to the Security Council to decry these violations.”

Sheikh Baqi explained that Erdogan is exploiting his presence in NATO, to carry out his interests and satisfy the parties to be silent on attacks on the freedom movement, and said: "Great responsibility lies with the guarantors of Russia and America for the ceasefire being responsible for protecting the agreement."

The impact of the severity of attacks will be mitigated with the adoption of measures

In the view of the Secretary-General of the Syrian Kurdish Democratic Party, Jamal Sheikh Baqi, the impact of these attacks will be reduced with measures taken and how hostile actors organize this war. The cells being prepared for this war must be detected, so measures must be taken against this dirty war.
