On October 9, 2019, the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries launched an occupation attack on the Serêkaniyê district and Girê Spî district, using internationally prohibited weapons, and it still commits crimes against their original inhabitants.

According to the statistics documented by the Committee over a period of three years, the Turkish occupation has killed 67 people, including 4 women, in addition to documenting 511 cases of kidnapping, including 68 women and 42 children, 325 cases of torture, and the transfer of 92 detainees to Turkey. 48 Some of them have so far received sentences ranging from 13 years to life imprisonment.

The Turkish occupation also caused the displacement of about 300,000 people from Serêkaniyê and Girê Spî, in addition to continuing to change the demographics of the two regions.

In order to document the crimes committed by the Turkish occupation state and its mercenaries against the citizens stranded in the city, and to achieve a safe return without occupation, on the 9th of July 2021, the people of the Serêkaniyê district formed a committee under the name “Committee in the name of the displaced people of the Serêkaniyê area / Ras al-Ain / Rash Ainu, under the slogan (To remain and return).

The committee aims to convey the voice of the displaced people of Serêkaniyê and Girê Spî to regional and global public opinion, to expose the crimes of the Turkish occupation, and to shed light on the suffering of the displaced through its activities and events.

Despite documenting the crimes committed by Turkey against the displaced in the Serêkaniyê district and Girê Spî province, the international community and international humanitarian organizations still condone them.

The jurist and relations officer in the Serekaniye Displaced Persons Committee, Joan Esau, pointed out that international organizations do not perform their role as required, "they have a timid role in dealing with the file of crimes that are documented by the committee, and even some of these organizations are considered partners in the media and human rights blackout." In the region, as well as some companies that are financed by some countries that are part or supportive of the policies of the Turkish occupation state.

Esau pointed out that the files of the crimes of the Turkish occupation that are documented by the committee are sent to international bodies, including the United Nations. He criticized their silence and condoning these crimes, saying: "Unfortunately, until this moment, we have not seen a positive position on the ground in order to shed light on what is happening inside the occupied territories, as a result of the Turkification and demographic change. These organizations do not have a positive role."

During the documentation process, the Committee sent 4 notes; A report by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in the city of Qamishlo, a report by the Golbal Coalition against ISIS, and two reports by delegations from the Russian and American foreign affairs during their visit to the regions of north and east Syria, in addition to 4 detailed reports on the crimes committed by the Turkish occupation state; A report to the Vice-President of the US Commission on International Religious Freedom Nadine Maenza, a report to the Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Syria, a report on the situation of the displaced to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, and the fourth report was sent to the International Forum on ISIS, according to Esau confirmed.

At the end of his speech, Esau called on international and humanitarian organizations to play their role and adopt the crimes that are documented by the committee, saying: "We have sent several reports containing the outcome of the crimes committed by the Turkish occupation army to global and international bodies and human rights organizations in order to carry out their duties in accordance with the principles and standards of the Universal Declaration of Rights. man and the internal system of these organizations.
