Consultative Forum: Syrian opposition is far from finding solutions to Syrian crisis

After the opening speech delivered by the member of the Preparatory Committee for the Conference of Democratic Forces and Personalities, Janda Mohamed, the first session began, and focused on the latest political developments and the need for a political solution, it moderated by the two members of the Preparatory Committee for the Conference of Democratic Forces and Personalities, Hassan Mohamed and Ziad Watfa.

Hassan Muhammad drew attention to the importance of the Syrian political solution, "With the advent of the 21st century, the political, economic, social and cultural crises in many regions of the world continue with the presence of wars and low and medium-temperature conflicts."

He stressed that "interventions by the great powers in different regions of the globe in general and the Middle East in particular, show us that we are experiencing a third world war, the mechanisms and tools of which differ from the first and second world wars.

He added , "If a true democratic struggle is relied on, a national democratic alliance can be formed that is capable of leading the Syrian ship amidst the crashing waves and bringing it to safety in a democratic, pluralistic, decentralized Syria."

He went to say "Such meetings between the democratic consultative forces and personalities are considered the basic and correct building blocks for putting the train on the tracks in the democratic struggle work in Syria."

At the conclusion of his speech, he indicated, "We have great confidence that those gathered in this hall in the city of Qamishlo, from various democratic and national forces, parties and personalities, are able to analyze reality, see challenges and provide successful solutions for a bright and honorable future for Syria.

For his part, the member of the Preparatory Committee for the Conference of Democratic Forces and Personalities, Ziad Watfa, drew attention to the demands and opinion of the Syrian people, saying, "There are those who think that the Syrian people, after all these years of destruction has become ready to accept anything thrown at it from outside.In my estimation, this saying should be highlighted, and I think it is not true.The Syrian people, even though they lost confidence in political action, on both sides of the conflict (the regime and the opposition), in its various expressions and at different periods, has expressed and still is. It expresses that it will not return before 2011."

Watfa noted the role of the Autonomous Administration in resolving the Syrian crisis, and said, "In appreciation of the existence of the Autonomous Administration's experience and the achievements that have been achieved so far, in terms of combating terrorism, confronting and protecting, are national and social gains that took place in blood, and it is very difficult not to have a role in what will be presented on the Syrians.
