​​​​​​​Representative of the Russian President meets a delegation from SDC; Syrian political forces

A delegation comprising Syrian political forces and parties met with the representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Middle East and North Africa and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov.

The meeting was attended, according to what was published by the official website of the Syrian Democratic Council, Sihanouk Dibo and Ali Al-Asi, representatives of the Syrian Democratic Council, Qadri Jamil and Alaa Arafat, representatives of the Moscow platform, Khaled Mahamid, former deputy head of the Syrian Negotiating Committee, Obeida Nahas, head of the National Renewal Movement, and Adel Saeed, representing the Commission National Coordination, and Hassan Al-Atrash for the Jabal Al-Arab Initiative in As-Suwayda.

Regarding the meeting and its results, Sihanouk Dibo, member of the Presidential Council of the Syrian Democratic Council, said in an interview with Rojava satellite channel, “The meeting was positive and we put some visions in it, as, we SDC transferred some of the fundamental issues and the case of the resolution of AANES and Kurdish issue in Syria on the basis of a national case and the negative repercussions that was made by Turkey.

Dibo added that the meeting was important and is understood in the context of the events that led to the Syrian crisis in a situation where the world and the region are witnessing difficult situations and in light of the process of complete political blockage on all tracks, not just Geneva.

He said, "We met with the Special Representative of the Head of the Russian Federation for the Middle East and Africa," and the meeting was characterized by seriousness, and we put forward ideas that can be relied upon and that can be started and based on, within the basic principles of the solution according to Resolution Two hundred and fifty-four. Issues of humanitarian relief and the fight against terrorism and terrorist organizations such as These issues must be placed in their primary context to resolve the Syrian crisis."

He explained, "We, as a national democratic opposition, have seen that we must move forward in this meeting, not only with Russia, but with those who can hear us at this critical moment in the life of the Syrian crisis."

And Dibo added: "Russia supports the Syrian-Syrian dialogue and supports a settlement or solution to the Syrian crisis in accordance with Resolution No. 2,254."

Concerning the Constitutional Committee, Dibo said, "We believe that the Constitutional Committee played a certain role, and it cannot be said that the role was in accordance with the steps of the solution and did not perform what was entrusted to it." and its restructuring and its weighting in the actors, foremost of which is the Syrian Democratic Council and the Autonomous Administration. Without these matters, it cannot be said that we are facing a serious path to resolving the Syrian crisis.”
