Musa praises Humanity and Security campaign against ISIS

The activity of ISIS/Daesh mercenary cells in the al-Hol camp, which houses more than 54,390 refugees between Syrians and Iraqis and 8,091 families of ISIS/Daesh mercenaries, has become increasingly dangerous, coinciding with escalating Turkish threats and attacks on North and East Syria.

To eliminate this threat to the region and the world at large, the Internal Security Forces, with the support of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the People's Protection Units (YPG) and Women's Protection Units (YPJ) launched the second phase of the "Humanity and Security" campaign on 25^th August 2022, while the first phase of the campaign was launched on 28^th March 2021.

Creating an unsafe situation at the hands of ISIS cells

Commenting on this, the Secretary-General of the Kurdish Left Party in Syria, Mohammed Musa, drew attention to the continuing attacks on North and East Syria for years, saying: "AANES’ areas have been constantly attacked for years, and the Kurds’ foes and the peoples of the region has always sought to undermine the will of this people and to foil the gains of thousands of martyrs through their dirty plans against the region."

Musa noted the importance of the SDF and Internal Security Forces' campaigns against ISIS mercenary cells in North and East Syria, and said: "While large-scale operations against ISIS are being launched in AANES’ areas, parties and entities seeking to strike the region's gains are attempting to create an insecure situation internally through ISIS cells and extremist forces, thereby reviving ISISin order to strike the gains of the peoples of the region."

Ending its role internally and preventing its revival

Musa described the second phase of the "Humanity and Security" campaign in al-Hol, which coincides with the escalation of attacks aimed at destabilizing the region, as "important", to "block the road to revival, and break it internally". He added: "ISIS is seeking to revive itself again, which is why this campaign is of great importance to the entire world, not just to North and East Syria."

SDF must be supported Internationally  

Mohammed Musa stressed the need to assist the international forces of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in ending ISIS intellectually and militarily, saying: "Those who attach importance to ending ISIS should assist the forces of SDF to end it internally and externally, in order to save this people and land from these extremist forces, and not to repeat the tragedy of the al-Sina’a Prison attack in the city of Hasakah, which led to the martyrdom of hundreds of our sons and daughters in that campaign, and the escaping of many ISIS elements and leaders abroad." "Our people must always be vigilant and stand up against these malicious schemes and their supporters."

Musa praised the role of the SDF towards the ISIS issue, "The SDF was able to end ISIS as a military front, but completely end it not with the ease we imagine, but with the need for significant change, as a result of the support of some external and internal forces."

Turkey is ISIS's main backer

Referring to the recent attack by ISIS mercenaries on al-Sina’a Prison, Musa said: "We all know that this attack was carried out with the assistance of the Syrian regime and the Turkish state in terms of facilitating the road and providing logistical support to them until the end, with the aim of reviving it and re-deploying it in the region."

On 20 January this year, ISIS mercenaries attacked on al-Sina’a Prison in the Geweran neighbourhood of al-Hasakeh, which housed thousands of mercenaries, while some mercenaries arrested by SDF during its campaign to repel the attack admitted that they had launched the attack under the direct orders of the Turkish occupying state.

Musa stated that Turkey was the main supporter of ISIS by training, arming, providing logistical support and protecting its leaders in the occupied areas. "Many confessions have emerged confirming the presence of mercenary leadership in the occupied areas."

"The goal that Turkey has not been able to achieve through its operations and attacks by striking this region and undermining the will of its people is pursued internally through these extremist forces."

Each State shall receive and hold to account its citizens in its own way
