Local factions launch security crackdown against groups backed by Hezbollah and Iran in Al-Suwaydaa

 SOHR  saidthat local factions in Al-Suwaydaa, led by Sheikh Laith Al-Balaous, Al-Jabal Brigade and anti-terrorism forces, have cordoned off Qanawat town in the north-eastern of Al-Suwaydaa countryside.

These local factions have launched a new security campaign in search of wanted Raghi Falhout cells and “Al-Fahd Forces,” led by Salim Hamid which is affiliated with the Military Intelligence.

This security campaign comes as a part of the ongoing measures and efforts by local factions to confront groups operating under the banner of Lebanese Hezbollah and Iranian-backed militias.

SOHR aded that the local factions had given a deadline to Salim Hamid, commander of “Al-Fahd Forces,” whose headquarters in Qanawat town and is close to Raji Falhout, to disjoin his faction and surrender their weapons, but Salim Hamid did not respond.

At the end of the deadline, local factions began the security campaign this morning, raiding several houses of “Al-Fahd Forces” fighters , including the house of the faction commander, but they did not find him, amid reports of being out of Aqnawat town.

In this security campaign, local factions have managed to arrest a number of “Al-Fahd forces” members.During launching this security campaign, the local groups and “Al-Fahd forces” militiamen exchanged fire, amid ongoing mobilisation by local factions.
