Serekaniye Refugee Committee releases stratement on yesterday`s fire in the camp

Serakaniye Refugee Committee released a statement today regarding yesterday`s fire that broke out in the camp and resulted in 2 children loosing their lives

The statement pointed out that mercenaries still are directly supporting the Turkish regime and carry out brutal crimes against civilians and destroy their properties and homes in the occupied territories.

It was pointed out in the statement that the international community`s and international organizations` silence towards the crimes committed by the Turkish state only contributes to paving the way for further such crimes to be carried out and said: “ The situation in the camp is very painful and that of our displaced people is no less. Thus, we say that these crimes fall under the international community and the United Nations` responsibility that all international laws and morals are being violated.”

The statement read: “The incident where the fire broke out last night in the Washokani Camp and which resulted in 2 children loosing their lives is a great shame for the international community and the United Nations. Despite calling for humanity, they have yet to rise up to their responsibilities regarding the camps in North and East Syria.”

The statement called for human rights organizations and the institutions of the UN, Russia and US to stand up to their responsibilities against the crimes carried out by the Turkish occupation state.
