Sihanouk Dibo: Imposing no-fly zone; it is initial step in achieving sustainable solution

With the meetings of Madrid and Tehran, the threatening tone of the Turkish occupation state escalated towards North and East Syria, and was manifested in practice through violent attacks it launched on separate areas in the two districts of Tal Tamr and Zerghan in al-Hasakah canton, and the Ain Issa district in the occupied Girê Spi district, as well as the Shahba district and the two districts of Shara and Sherawa in the occupied canton of Afrin.

Complicating the course of the Syrian political process

In this context, Sihanouk Dibo, member of the Presidential Council of the Syrian Democratic Council, believes that the Turkish threats are not a result of the moment, but rather they are continuous, and their destructive effects have been monitored throughout the region, especially Syria, since the beginning of the Syrian crisis, saying: "Turkey is an occupying country for some Syrian regions, and this is the fourth time that it threatens to invade the safe areas of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria.”

Dibo drew attention to the dangers of the threats and attacks of the Turkish occupation state on the Syrian regions in general, and said: "Certainly, these threats are great dangers to the interior and the Syrian reality, and to all crises sweeping the region and the world. The Turkish interventions in the smallest details of the Syrian political process, the reality of the occupation it imposed and the demographic change, in addition to many things, are an attempt to change the features of the occupied areas, which complicated the course of the Syrian political process.

Turkey is the country that has the most abusive plans for the region

Stressing that the Turkish threats to North and East Syria are not interrupted by Turkey's reality and its precarious internal situation in all fields, political, economic and social, "Turkey today suffers from crises in its regional and international relations, and it has become the most countries with abusive plans for the region and expansionist ambitions that stem from what it is called Misak-ı Millî, the way you want to revive the defunct Ottoman Empire.

Regarding the goals of the Turkish occupation state in North and East Syria, Dibo said: "Within this atmosphere, the Syrian Democratic Forces have emerged as a symbol against terrorism, and a source of stability for all Syrian components, so Turkey seeks to strike at the Autonomous Administration, and thus its military forces and SDF forces by directing and intensifying its occupation of the region.

He added, "This is an essential point to meet the call of ISIS/Daesh and to ensure that it does not end, as it is the the magic wand in achieving its ambitions."

Moving to the most serious step in liberating the occupied territories

Referring to the measures taken by the Autonomous Administration to impose a state of emergency throughout North and East and Syria; In preparation for confronting the Turkish occupation, Dibo said, "These dangers necessitated the Autonomous Administration to launch a state of emergency and declare a general alarm in all its regions, and here we believe that all the institutions of the Autonomous Administration and all components and people of North and East Syria must respond to this situation, and prepare for it to thwart the goals and plans of the occupation, and moving to the most serious step in liberating the areas occupied by Turkey."

Sihanouk Dibo stressed, "In this reality we live in, we believe that the best step for the international community is to impose an air embargo on the whole of North and East Syria. If this is done on a practical level, it will serve as a real preparation for the beginning of a sustainable solution to the Syrian crisis, and then deal major blows to ISIS/Daesh and to end it completely and to move until the Autonomous Administration becomes a generalized and national model for the whole of Syria.

At the conclusion of his speech, a member of the Presidential Council of the Syrian Democratic Council, Sihanouk Dibo, said that "the declaration of a no-fly zone in North and East Syria will reflect positively on the entire region, and will enhance its security and stability in the face of Turkey's plans and all regional projects against the Middle East."

On June 28, political parties and forces in North and East Syria called on the International Coalition to Defeat ISIS and the Russian Federation to impose no-fly zone on North and East Syria to prevent Turkish crimes, calling on the people at home to carry out pressure campaigns to hold Turkey accountable.

Meanwhile, tens of thousands of virtual networking activists, politicians and journalists in north and east Syria, in addition to Arab and foreign personalities, joined the "hashtag" campaign, which was launched on July 23^rd , to demand the imposition of a Turkish air embargo on north and east Syria.
