​​​​​​​Bedran Çiya Kurd evaluates Tehran summit; call people to join hands together against Turkish threats

In conjunction with the 10-year anniversary of the start of the July 19^th Revolution, a tripartite summit (Iran, Russia and Turkey) was held at the level of presidents of states in the Iranian capital Tehran, the top of which was the Syrian crisis, especially the Turkish offensive against north and east Syria, as well as the Ukrainian war.

Both Russia and Iran rejected any Turkish offensive against north and east Syria, saying that any new Turkish military operation would undermine security and stability in the region, calling for a political solution in Syria.

But Erdogan's threats did not recede after the meeting, as he returned and threatened that he was continuing to attack north and east Syria, not yet known if there were deals behind the curtain at this meeting in Tehran, despite statements by both Russia and Iran to reject the operation.

One day after the tripartite meeting, the Foreign Minister of the Government of Damascus, Faisal Mekdad, visited the Iranian capital Tehran for formal talks and, during a press conference, rejected any Turkish attack, confirming that it would respond with a popular response.

To address all these developments, ANHA’s agency held a dialogue with the Executive Council's vice co-chairmanship in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, Bedran Çiya Kurd.

* How do you evaluate the 10 years since the start of the July 19^th Revolution

We begin by blessing the tenth anniversary of the launch of the Rojava Revolution on our people and on all Syrians. The revolution of Rojava is a revolution of freedom and liberation against an exclusionary and unrecognized mindset, which stifled all cultures, religions and components in its crucible. The Rojava revolution, under which cultures, religions and constituents were able to breathe a sigh of relief, was able to represent themselves until they became politically determined.

The July 19^th Revolution embraced all the peoples of the region and became a political project for the people of north and east Syria and for all Syrians believing in this revolution, and a structure for a political and democratic solution for all Syria.

Since its inception, this revolution has faced the policies and plans of extermination from national systems, and everyone who fears that his power will collapse with this project. They attacked north and east Syria as well as AANES by all means. The attacks continued because the project was founded with the faith and will of the people of north and east Syria, who were able to act as a barrier to all attacks. This revolution was marked by important victories and gains at all levels in its 10 years.

These victories and gains were not achieved on any spot of Syrian geography. Syria's entire geography has been devastated and its population displaced by the killing and religious, ethnic, sectarian and cultural contradictions in which it took place. However, the people of north and east Syria, believing in the thinking of the democratic nation and in co-existence, have lived in peace and harmony with each other and have so strongly protected the gains of this project.

The gains achieved at the military, political, economic and administrative levels are gains for all Syrians, from which all Syrians can benefit and protect.

* The tripartite meeting between Iran, Russia and Turkey was held on the commemoration of July 19. What message do they want to send to the people of the region, and what were the outcomes of this meeting?

The July 19 meeting in Tehran, which brought the parties to the Astana Summit together at the level of presidents of states, was an important meeting, everyone's attention turned to it, and to the desired results, we were also closely following it and the agreements it would carry, against the will of Syrians, especially against the will of the people of north and east Syria.

According to our positions on the media, Russia and Iran's position on any possible Turkish military operation against the north and east Syrian regions has been positive.

But these positions are not enough to deter Turkey's insistence on launching a military operation. Erdogan stated that he would continue his attacks and occupation, called terrorist names according to his whims on existing forces, and said, "We will fight against terrorist organizations in Syria without taking permission from anyone," a clear message to Russia and Iran.

To what extent can these countries stop Turkish threats and prevent them from carrying out any attack? In our view, the States of Astana and the States of the International Coalition must have practical positions to stop these attacks.

second; The tripartite meeting was a copy of Astana's eight previous meetings. There was no will and decision for Syrians to trade on Syria, its people and its land.

Astana's meetings have always been solely for the common interests of these three countries, not for the sake of Syria, its land, sovereignty and political solution. At this summit in Tehran, there were greater common interests for these countries in Syria, so there could be topics agreed upon to proceed and trade them off.

I want to say that these trade-offs at the expense of Syria and its people will not go into the agendas of Syria's political solution, agreements and, regardless of possible Turkish military attacks on Syria's territory, will not go into the service of political solution, stability and security of Syria. They talked a lot about that they agree on a political solution in Syria, we also support that. Attacks and occupation cannot bring Syria's political solution. Ending the occupation and standing up to it will bring a political solution, security and stability, which is important, for everyone to work towards a political solution and stability in the region.

As we understood from previous meetings and agreements in Astana, this meeting is a repetition of what preceded it. Together, they understand the struggle against terrorism and understand the fears that Turkey's national security is in danger.

I would like to clarify some matters, first of all there is no part of Syria or the city of Syria that has posed or posed a threat to the security of the Turkish state, especially the north and east of Syria, previously and now also has not posed a threat to Turkey's national security, on the contrary; It is Turkey that poses a threat to Syria, especially the north and east of Syria, that everyone should see this danger.

Terrorist designations must not be called wherever, like the Turkish state, which calls terrorism the Kurd's struggle for freedom and democracy, it wants everyone to line up with it to pursue a policy of extermination against the peoples of the region.

Terrorism that united the world under the umbrella of the International Coalition to fight and stand against it, the SDF is a partner in this coalition and is fighting it. This terror exists in the Turkish lands, today. in previously occupied Syrian areas, under several names, Jabhet al-Nusra, al-Qaeda, Hizbul Islam Turkestan, Khorasan, even ISIS leaders are being killed near Turkish bases in the occupied areas. This confirms that Turkey supports and protects them. And then it says its 's fighting against terrorism, that's great hypocrisy.

Turkish state has not made any struggle against the terrorism that all the world is fighting against. Everyone knows how far relations have reached between ISIS, al-Qaeda, Jabhet al-Nursa and the Turkish state. It classifies the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), the People's and Women’s Protection Units (YPG-YPJ), and AANES, which are the gainers of north and east Syria as terrorist organizations, and thus wants to engage everyone with them in the struggle against north and east Syria.

The fact is that this emerged at the Madrid meeting of NATO, in which Turkey stipulated and asked everyone to support it against terrorism, the terrorism that it called and unleashed, they mean us and the people of north and east Syria, it wanted to make NATO a partner in its fight against Kurds and the people of the region. and tried to do so at the Tehran summit and asked Russia and Iran to implement its conditions to be partners in carrying out an annihilation of our people's rights in the region.

Erdogan told the Tehran meeting that these organizations, the YPG- YPJ and the PKK, are dangerous to everyone and asked Russia and Iran to be their partners in fighting our people in the region. He is pursuing this policy as part of a political and diplomatic campaign. He always wants to develop this policy in order for the world to line up with him to fight against our people.

According to our follow-up to the Tehran meeting, Erdogan did not get what he wanted from this meeting, but said he would continue his attacks on north and east Syria without anyone's permission, indicating that he did not get the desired results.

We hope that there will be no agreement and trade-offs that have taken place in secret and behind the curtain, any hidden agreement that will have catastrophic consequences for the people of the region and everyone will be affected by it.

One of the topics discussed at the meeting was the Adana Agreement between Turkey and Syria in 1998, which allows the Turkish state to enter Syrian territory for a distance of 5 kilometres. If it wishes to implement this agreement, it would be against the will of the Syrian people, unjust and unfair, and any agreement in that regard would legitimize the Turkish occupation and would mean approval of the annexation of Syrian territory. It must not be accepted by all means. We are an important part of Syria. We will not accept such agreements and we will be against them. Everyone talks about the political solution in Syria, if the political solution in this form is a free licence for Turkey's occupation of Syria.

With such an agreement, the Turkish occupation will say that I am in Afrin, Idlib, Ras-al Ain and Azaz, and these cities will also be included in the Convention, thereby legitimizing its occupation in Syria. These important parts of Syria will be occupied to be part of Turkey, so this is an important subject, the Damascus Government must see this fact. For 11 years, the Turkish state has been responsible for Syria's devastation, destruction, displacement, the entry of thousands of ISIS/Daesh and the provision of weapons to thousands of armed organizations that have ravaged the country.

* In addition, after the tripartite meeting in Tehran, the Syrian Foreign Minister also went to Iran and sent a letter during his speech, rejecting any military operation of Turkey in Syria, how do you evaluate this meeting between Syria and Iran, and how do you read Damascus' statements regarding Turkish threats?

There have been many statements by the Government of Damascus that they are against Turkish occupation, these statements are good, but how can these statements be applied on the ground, in the event of any attack, and this is important, will they retreat or will they respond to Turkish attacks, this question always comes to our minds.

There is an agreement between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Syrian Army to deploy on the border line to take measures, which is an important step, but if this step does not turn into a political solution, a practical step; It won't last. For that reason, they must know that if there is an attack and resistance against the occupation army, or external aggression against Syrian territory, the regime must agree politically with all Syrians, if there is no agreement, no one can stand with the regime like the previous one, and the occupation will not end.

The Syrian regime must also reverse its mentality. It must review itself. It must agree with all Syrians in order to cease foreign aggression and recover and liberate the occupied areas.

There are some steps made on the ground between the SDF and the Syrian army, if this agreement does not turn into a political solution that will have negative consequences for all Syrians, it must be well known that Syria needs a political agreement between all Syrians.

The current situation in the region is moving towards further contradictions, crises and escalation, in order to put an end to these contradictions that appear in the Syrian arena and so that the Ukrainian war does not affect the region and Syria, we must move quickly and begin serious dialogue.

Unfortunately, we continue to hear statements from Syrian Foreign Affairs accusing the SDF and AANES of secession, cooperation with the outside, and that we are not Syrians. These statements are not true, divide Syria, serve neither the unity of the Syrian people nor the political solution in Syria.

The presence of the foreign Government of Damascus in Tehran after the Tripartite Summit indicates that it will meet with other parties as well. It can meet with Turkey, there are security relations with it at the intelligence level, these relations can continue, so it will not be in the service of the political solution and the Syrian people, above all; The occupation must be ended and Turkish attacks stopped.

We are not against good agreements and dialogues with neighbouring States, but above all the occupation and attacks must be brought to an end. If this is not done, this is a surrender to occupation, and it will open the way for occupation of other areas. Everyone must be well aware of this.

After meeting with Iran, the Syrian Foreign Minister could meet with Russia, a friend and ally for 10 years, and support Syria on some topics since the start of the Syrian crisis, there are important agreements between them and want these agreements to continue and develop, we are not against these agreements either.

Russia, Iran and every country that lends a helping hand to Syria must put pressure on Damascus Government, that the country cannot be managed by the previous mindset. It must change, and start with new steps towards a solution and dialogue, so that everyone agrees and works to stave off the great risks facing Syria.

* We go back to talking about the north and east of Syria; A while ago the General Council of Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria declared a state of emergency against schemes targeting the region, what do you say about this state of emergency, and how can the peoples of the region foiling these attacks?

We always say that the Turkish state is ready to attack. It wants support from the world in this regard. It is now continuing its drone and missile attacks. On a daily basis, our people are subjected to extermination attacks. These attacks continue and do not stop. The prospect of the attack is that, if Turkey is allowed to occupy north and east Syria alone, it will. No one will wait, but it turns out that there are problems and difficulties in their way, and they are looking for solutions to remove them in order to reduce the bill of their war against our people.

We must consolidate all our energies and work in the service of war, and organize ourselves for that, as well as for AANES and all its institutions to prepare accordingly, at the security, health, economic and service levels.

We cannot live our lives routinely, as if there are no threats and attacks on us, every day there are threats to exterminate us, everyone, intellectuals and political parties, must organize, prepare and prepare accordingly.

If we are not ready and organized, we cannot win any war. In order to win and protect our gains and existence, we must prepare at all levels. This is the duty not only of AANES, but of all societal groups.

We believe that if we prepare well, we will win, preparations now are good, but they are not enough, we must prepare more, this will be a significant response to any possible attack on Turkish fascism. This way we can win and protect the gains of the July 19^th Revolution, there is no other way to win than this.
