​​​​​​​SDC: July 19 Revolution is national gain

 The Syrian Democratic Council issued a statement coinciding with the tenth anniversary of the July 19 revolution, which stated:

 "This July 19 marks the tenth anniversary of the launch of the revolution of the peoples of northern and eastern Syria - Rojava, which was an extension of the revolution of the Syrian people in general, and their demands for change, democracy and a modern Syria that relies on the principle of citizenship and the foundations of coexistence and on the basis of the national identity."

The statement added: "As we commemorate this solemn occasion, we must pay tribute to the historical resistance of the sons and daughters of northern and eastern Syria's various components from the Kurds, Arabs, Assyrian Syriacs and others in Kobani, a symbol of resistance and heroism, as they presented a bright model for the desired Syrian situation through their solidarity against the forces of terrorism and extremism, up to the  to Al-Baghouz, where the Syrian Democratic Forces, with the support of the Global Coalition, defeated the terrorist organization ISIS sacrificing more than 11 thousand martyrs and twice as many wounded and injured.

 The construction went along with the liberation to culminate in the establishment of local governance, the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, which provided an advanced experience in governance and administration.

The statement also praised the effective participation of women in the revolution: "We value this experience and congratulate the residents of northern and eastern Syria for this occasion that has established the values ​​of coexistence and peace and has proven that women's participation. It promoted the components and encouraged the pluralism and diversity that characterizes Syria, and enacted laws that protect it.

 We see in this experience that enabled society to manage itself as a basic pillar of decentralization and a model for a future Syria that we only want to be free of occupiers, tyrants and terrorists, and to be united and sovereign as the Syrians wanted it to be a “decentralized pluralistic democracy” that preserves the country and establishes a more stable and advanced stage.  "

 The statement also referred to the continuation of Turkish threats against the regions of northern and eastern Syria: “This occasion, in its tenth anniversary, coincides with a very dangerous historical moment, in which our country needs solidarity against the Turkish threats and its expansionist ambitions, as the Turkish state does not hesitate to exploit any regional or international circumstance to blackmail the international community to achieve its interests in the Syrian lands, which are threatened by division more than ever before as a result of Turkish policies and their interference and practices.

The statement also stated: "We in the Syrian Democratic Council, and from the gateway to the unity of life and national interests between Syrian cities and regions, and in order to preserve the identity of the country and the integrity of its sovereignty and borders, we call on all Syrians to unite the position and work against the Turkish occupier and its ambitions and raise the level of coordination and cooperation to repel these attempts that seek to prolong the period of time.  The Syrian crisis and its transformation into a failed state, an exporter of extremism and a threat to regional security.

 We also call for a just solution to the Kurdish issue in Syria, as it is a national issue par excellence, and the recognition of all the legitimate rights of the Kurdish people.

 The Syrian Democratic Council ended its statement by calling on the international community to intervene and deter Turkey and end its occupation of Syrian lands: “From here and in awareness of the dangers that threaten the country’s unity and integrity, and from the logic of national responsibility, we address the countries involved in the Syrian file, led by the United States of America, the international coalition against ISIS, the Russian Federation, and international institutions.”  To intervene and work to spare Syria more blood and the pain of migration and displacement, to deter Turkey and to end its occupation of Syrian lands, and to engage in work for a political settlement and the implementation of international resolutions on Syria, foremost of which is Resolution 2254.
