​​​​​​​Statements in Al-Shahba supports demands to impose no-fly zone in NE Syria

 Today, Al-Shahba District Council, the Legislative Council of Afrin Region and the Lawyers Union made separate statements regarding Turkey's threats to launch aggression against northern and eastern Syria.

 The statement of the al-Shahba district council was read by the co-chair of the council, Juma Kalou, in the district of Fafin in al-Shahba district, in the presence of dozens of members of the council, raising the flags of the al-Shahba district council, and the text of the statement read:

 “Since the start of the revolutions of the Spring of the Peoples in North Africa and the Middle East, Turkey announced its Ottoman expansionist project and intervened in all these revolutions under the pretext of supporting peoples to gain their freedom and live in dignity, and was able to buy some debts to achieve their interests. International organizations, led by the United Nations and the active countries, remained silent towards  the transgressions of the Turkish government and its flagrant and public violation of international covenants and treaties, good-neighborly relations and friendship between countries, taking advantage of international interests and their contradictions in the region.

Emphasizing that "the Turkish state did not hesitate for a moment in its support for extremist Islamic movements such as ISIS, Jabhat al-Nusra, Hurras al-Din and others in full view and hearing from the whole world."

 And when it failed to achieve its goals through its terrorist arms, it directly intervened and occupied parts of the Syrian lands, and to complete its expansionist occupation project, we see it today, threatening to launch another military campaign to occupy more safe cities, towns and villages, displacing its residents and effecting demographic change in them.

 We, the people of al-Shahba canton, join our voice to the initiative of political parties and forces in north and east Syria in calling for the imposition of no fly zone on north and east Syria, and we call on all international and human rights organizations and guarantor countries in the region to prevent Turkey from launching any attack on the region because of its negative repercussions on resolving the Syrian crisis  which will be a starting point for the revival of terrorist groups that find a safe haven in the areas occupied by Turkey."

 Statement of the Legislative Council of Afrin

 As for the statement of the Legislative Council of Afrin region, it was read in Arabic by the member, Mushira Manla Rashid, and it stated:

 "The Turkish occupation state is still continuing its violations and bringing about demographic change in Afrin, as it brought in Turkmen from inside and outside Syria and settled them in the border strip between it and Rojava after expelling its original inhabitants, violating all international covenants and covenants.

 The Turkish constant threat, which has escalated in the recent period, and its support and harboring of ISIS leaders (three of them were killed in the areas it occupies) is unequivocal evidence that it wants to avenge ISIS against the forces that defeated it.

 Turkey is exploiting the refugees’ card to blackmail Europe and on the other hand, annexing northern Syria to it under the pretext of establishing the safe zone, taking advantage of the hidden conflict between Russia and NATO and an attempt by both to win Turkey to its side.

Internally, the popularity of the ruling coalition in Turkey (MHP-AKP) has declined, trying to carry out military operations outside the borders to distract the attention of the Turkish people from the situation.

 Erdogan failed as a result of the guerrilla tournaments, despite Erdogan’s forces using the latest types of conventional and internationally banned weapons.  After receiving those slaps from Guerilla and the heroes of Şengal, and after the daily arrival of the bodies of Turkish soldiers, Erdogan increased his threat to northern and eastern Syria, hoping to occupy even a small village to save his face.

 We in the Legislative Council of Afrin canton, while we support the statement issued by the group of parties, bodies, unions and movements in northern and eastern Syria, regarding the rejection of Turkish threats;  We appeal to the Syrians not to accept their housing in other than their places because Turkey aims to create a long-term conflict between the Kurds and the Arabs, and we also call on the relevant countries, especially Russia, America, Britain and France, to carry out their humanitarian and moral duty to stop Turkish arrogance and reject the demographic change it is making, and to pressure it to end its occupation of northern Syria and the return of the displaced to their homes and to build Syria a state  decentralized democracy with the colors of spring.

 Statement of the lawyers' Association of Afrin

 As for the statement of the Lawyers' Association of Afrin canton, it stated the following:

Despite the issuance of many international statements and positions calling for the Turkish state to abide by the two cease-fire agreements signed in October 2019, but Turkey continues  in its hostile actions against the peoples of the region through political assassinations by drones and the continuous military bombing of cities, towns and villages in northern and eastern Syria, Başûr and Sinjar, the most recent of which was the assassination of Mr. Farhad Shibli, the joint vice president of the Autonomous Administration in Sulaymaniyah in the Kurdistan region of Iraq.

 Despite the international statements and positions that demanded Turkey not to threaten or aggression, but it continued to implement its regional expansion project and occupied the cities of Afrin, Tal Abyad and Serêkaniyê, and committed the most heinous war crimes against innocent civilians, and carried out ethnic cleansing, forced displacement and demographic change against its original inhabitants, due to the lack of  the existence of any firm UN position that threatens Turkey with international accountability for its reprehensible violations of international law and international humanitarian law.  This encouraged it to complete its expansion project today by occupying more Syrian lands.

 Turkey, which is a member of the Global Coalition to fight ISIS, behaves as a rogue state in the Middle East and practices state terrorism policies against the peoples of the region. It has never fought ISIS on its borders for years. On the contrary, it facilitated and assisted the entry of terrorists into Syria, and it harbors many  the terrorist leaders of ISIS and Al-Nusra in the areas they occupied, and any new military action by it in northern and eastern Syria will undermine all the achievements of the international coalition and its partners, the Syrian Democratic Forces, and undermine their efforts to fight ISIS, spread chaos, and cause waves of asylum to Europe and regional countries, and create the appropriate environment.  To the most dangerous terrorists in the world who are in prisons and camps to take control of the region again.

 Accordingly, and the Turkish state’s mobilization of its forces and its affiliated factions to occupy more lands in the north and east of Syria, we, the Lawyers Union in the Afrin region, affirm our support and support for the campaign of political parties and forces in north and east Syria regarding the violations of the Turkish state and its non-compliance with international agreements and the demand to impose  The no-fly zone dated June 28, 2022, and we call on the member states of the international coalition to fight ISIS, in particular the United States of America, the United Kingdom and France, as well as the Russian Federation to take strict measures against Turkey and impose an air embargo on northern and eastern Syria to prevent any new invasion causing damage  the lives of millions of civilians.  We also call on the daughters and sons of our people at home and abroad to carry out activities, events and pressure campaigns;  In order to stop this aggression and hold Turkey accountable for its crimes against humanity.”
