​​​​​​​Turkey, its mercenaries reduce water supply from Allouk station

 For more than a week, the people of Al-Hasakah have been suffering from a severe shortage of water from the Allouk station, as a result of the violations of the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries on the power lines at the station, while the water crisis has again caused suffering among the residents.

 In this context, the people of Al-Hasakah city expressed their suffering as a result of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries cutting off the water of the Allouk station from time to time. They pointed out that with the high temperatures in the summer, the occupation and its mercenaries continue to cut off the water.

 On July 10, 2010, during its meeting, the United Nations ratified a resolution to include the right of the individual to access water within human rights, and consider it a basic right, while the Turkish occupation uses water confinement and cutting off as a pressure card on the peoples of north and east Syria.

Killing of thirst is a new weapon for the occupation and its mercenaries

 The people of the city of al-Hasakah indicated that the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries cut off the water continuously, as a weapon against the peoples of the region, "the occupation and its mercenaries are trying to kill us of thirst."

 Turkey's mercenaries have previously used water as a weapon in the Syrian crisis, as they used it against the people of the cities of Damascus and Aleppo, and today they use it against the people of the city of Hasaka and its countryside.

 Regarding the water shortage in the recent period, the co-chair of the Water Directorate in the city of Al-Hasakah, Yahya Hami, explained that the quantities of water received from the Allouk station to the city of Al-Hasakah decreased by 50%, “as a result of the violations of the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries on the electricity lines, which leads to the lack of water supply.  Sufficient operation of wells and pumps to pump water to the city of al-Hasakah.

 During his speech, Hami explained the mechanism for pumping water to the neighbourhoods, "We used to pump water daily to all neighbourhoods to meet the needs of the people, but now, after the shortage of water coming from the station, the mechanism for pumping water is late, that is, once every two days."

The people pointed out that the owners of private tanks are taking advantage of the water shortage crisis, and are selling them at exorbitant prices, not commensurate with the financial situation of some families, while the price of 5 barrels ranges between 7000 to 8000.

 Demanding the concerned authorities to neutralize Alouk station and remove it from the occupation and its mercenaries' control.

 In order to avoid the problem of the shortage of water coming from the station, and to limit the exploitation of the owners of private water tanks in the city, the Water Directorate coordinated with the councils and communes in the city, to organize the mechanism for distributing water tanks to the people, through the communes in the neighborhoods.

 The price of one barrel of water from the directorate's tanks is 500 SYP, while the co-chair of the Water Directorate in the city of Hasaka, Yahya Hami, confirmed that "the goal is to reduce the living burden on the people."

 Allouk water station is located east of the occupied city of Serêkaniyê, which feeds more than one and a half million residents of the city of Hasaka and its environs, in addition to a large number of displaced people from all occupied cities as a result of the occupation’s attacks and the residents of Al-Hol camp, Al-Aresha and Washo Kani.
