Palestinian politicians and intellectuals reject Turkish occupation in Syria and Iraq

In this context, the leader of the Palestinian People's Party, Abdel Khader Idris, told ANHA’s agency, "The Turkish state continues to interfere in Arab affairs, to break them up in order to facilitate the implementation of its colonial projects in them, and this is clear through its repeated intervention in Iraq and Syria, where it occupies parts of these two regions of the two countries.

The Palestinian leader continued his speech, saying: "We value the struggles of the peoples who are facing and fighting Turkey's interference in their lands and occupying parts of their lands. Efforts must be united to defeat this intervention and Turkish occupation. Turkey's rejected interventions did not stop at Syria and Iraq, but rather intervened in Libya and previously intervened in the Palestinian situation to consolidate Palestinian division.

He expressed his rejection of Turkey's attempts to sow discord and disputes between Arabs and Kurds to achieve its colonial interests in these countries, and here the Arabs and Kurds must unite to thwart Turkish intervention and work and struggle together to defeat the Turkish occupation.

For his part, the Palestinian writer and political activist, Mustafa Maslamani, shed light on Syria's ambitions, and said: "There has been talk recently about a safe border 30 km deep in Syrian territory, this interference is blatant, an attack on Syrian territory, an interference in Syrian affairs, and an attempt to present arguments and flimsy pretexts that the Kurds pose a threat to the Turkish presence.

Maslamani explained that "Turkey is trying today to exploit the Ukrainian crisis and the Russian preoccupation in Ukraine and try to install new rules. This interference is condemned and rejected altogether."

He also drew attention to the fact that Turkish threats "are not for the return and resettlement of Syrian refugees, but rather an attack on Syrian territory and sovereignty."

Meanwhile, the leader of the Popular Struggle Front, Mahmoud al-Zaq, affirmed his rejection of threats and any possible Turkish attack, and said: "Certainly, this is absolutely unacceptable, and this contradicts Turkey's strategic interest."

He pointed out that "its interest is to have good relations with the Arab world by virtue of the Islamic ties that unite them."

The leader went on to say: "It is required that Turkey fully realize that its interests exist in the Arab world and its historical alliances are supposed to be based on this. We hope that Turkey realizes that this hostility against Syria in particular and its attempt to control a border strip of Syrian territory is something that cannot be achieved." Any Arab would accept it.

He also urged it to stop its interference in Syria, saying: "We hope Turkey will withdraw from this border and stop its blatant interference in Syrian affairs."

As for the leader of the Palestinian People's Party, Walid Al-Awad, he expressed his rejection of any Turkish occupation in Syria, and said: "Turkish intervention is rejected, as is any interference from any foreign country in Syria," and called for the cessation of Turkish intervention and its immediate withdrawal from Syrian territory.

It is noteworthy that the Turkish occupation state has launched, since last April 17, genocidal attacks on the legitimate defense areas in Southern Kurdistan, in conjunction with its continuous attacks on north and east Syria, and its President Erdogan, since last May, has threatened to launch a new attack on the region in order to occupy and displace its residents.

To confront these threats, the General Council of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria declared, on Wednesday (July 6), a state of public emergency in the regions of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, and put all capabilities at the service of protecting the people from any possible Turkish attack.
