NES's Women recall Helincê massacre

Under the slogan "Killing a woman is a betrayal of life," hundreds of women from all over the North and East of Syria and the people of Kobani canton marched in memory of the martyrs of the Helincê massacre on its second anniversary.

The participants proceeded from the junction of the village of Helincê, towards the Museum of the Helincê massacre, where the house of Mother Amina, where 3 martyrs were targeted, (Zahra, Wahboun and Mother Amina Wessi).

Kongra Star coordinator, Ramzia Muhammad, pointed out that the struggle of women today in the mountains of Kurdistan destroys the will of the enemies.

For her part, Sarah Khalil, the member of the Women’s Council of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), said: “Women who struggled to break the patriarchal mentality imposed on us as women, this is not the first massacre committed by Turkey against them, when we mention the name of Turkey comes to our minds, the massacres and the patriarchal mentality against women.”

At the end of her speech, Sarah pledged to the martyrs by saying: "No matter how much we are attacked, we will increase our resolve from our martyrs we derive the will."
