Kongra Star: life sentence on Cicek Kobane against international law

Member of the Kongra Star Coordination Walida Buti affirmed that the life sentence passed on Cicek Kobane is contradictory to international laws and human norms and values.

On the life sentence passed by a Turkish court against the Syrian citizen and fighter in the Women Protection Units,, the YPJ, Cicek Kobane Walida Buti said: '' all acts of the Turkish occupation state are against the human values and norms. It does abide by these norms to which it is a signatory''.

Walida wondered how Turkish occupation state arrested and then sentenced Walida that defended her country. She indicated to the dirty policies that target all women politicians and lawyers and all that defend feminist rights''.

In 28 May the last a Cicek was sentenced to life imprisonment with sever punishments.

Walida Buti noted that detainees in Turkish jails undergo intense hardships and '' they are sued on unjust grounds, fighters Cicek Kobane was sued and sentenced to life imprisonment. There is thousands of women who were arrested as they took part in activities that combat violence against women and the Women International Day''.

Walida Buti went on to say that Cicek Kobane was abducted in a savage way '' this was released and every one watched that, this is contradictory to ethics and norms. Walida said the mercenary groups affiliated to the Turkish occupation state sought by releasing such images to frighten and intimidate women and to send a message that any one that dares to raise her voice against the occupiers would face the same fate''.

Regarding the recent attacks by the Turkish occupation state against North and East Syria, Walida said ''Turkey is revenging for the ISIS mercenary groups that were defeated at the hands of the YPJ fighters and YPG,  and the failure they met to pass projects of  the Turkish occupation state in the region. For this it seeks to subvert the will of women''.

Walida called on the people in the region to be one hand and to stand up to the threats posed by the Turkish occupation army against the region.

Walida at the end lashed out at the approach undertaken by the international and human rights organizations and foundations in dealing with human rights issues in the NES calling on them to stop the North eastern Syria and to prevent breaches and offences against political detainees and lawyers held in the Turkish jails and the violations of the Turkish occupation state against neighbouring countries'' Turkey has trespassed all international standards. AKP and Erdogan ought to be held accountable for the crimes they committed''.
