​​​​​​​Co-chair of Al-Shahba Council: Erdogan seeks to make the region corridor of wars and tragedies

Turkish occupation state continues its systematic policies aimed at reviving the defunct Ottoman Empire and implementing the Milli Pact, taking advantage of the world's preoccupation with the ongoing war in Ukraine.

Since the beginning of the Syrian crisis and the intervention of the Turkish occupation in Syrian affairs, the occupation of Syrian lands has been at the top of Turkey's political agendas.

In an interview with ANHA the co-chair of the al-Shahba canton council, Juma Kalou, said "Recently, Turkish actions which contrary the international laws have escalated, as statements of the Turkish government have become more fierce towards the occupied areas, in NE Syria.

He added, "We have recently noticed Erdogan's statement about settlement of one million displaced Syrians to Turkey in the occupied strip of northern Syria".

Kalou continued: "Through building the wall and digging trenches, Turkey aims to separate the occupied areas from the rest of the Syrian regions, and isolate the people from each other for political goals, if Turkey was serious in this regard, it would have returned the people to their original areas, not areas of others, in addition to other political goals, including Erdogan’s quest to find a border area, as he calls it “the safe zone.”

About the goals of the Turkish occupation from these practices, Kalou said: "Turkey is suffering from an economic and political crisis, and the opposition parties so it is trying to distract the world's attention in a way in general and the Turkish interior in particular

Kalou noted that the Turkish state's intervention in Syrian affairs from its inception was aimed at exploiting it and the people of Syria to serve its expansionist interests and said " Turkey is seeking to restore the defunct Ottoman Empire and implement the Milli Pact, and to achieve this it taking advantage of international circumstances."
