Platform for joint activities of women's organizations warns about refugee settlement project

On Thursday, the platform issued a statement to public opinion, denouncing the Turkish policies that aim to the demographic change in the occupied areas.

The platform's statement was read in both languages, Arabic and Kurdish, by the member of the Syrian Women's Council, Makiya Ezz El-Din Hasso, and the administrator in Kongra Star in the Qamishlo canton, Ibtisam Al-Hussein, respectively, in front of the Afrin roundabout, east of Qamishlo.

The platform confirmed that "what the Turkish occupation state is doing in these areas rise to the level of war crimes and crimes against humanity.

It added that what is cause for condemnation is "the willingness of some Arab countries, such as Qatar and Kuwait, that finance relief organizations to support this settlement project without taking into account the most basic human rights of peoples, as well as the complacency of the Syrian government's stance towards its people."

The platform called on the international community to "assume its responsibilities to stop this project that Turkey intends to implement, through an international consensus that takes into account the serious repercussions that will result from it, otherwise it will be a party to this project and work to secure the safe return of all displaced persons and refugees.

It called on the United Nations and the Security Council to put pressure on the Turkish state to withdraw from the occupied Syrian areas and return to its international borders. It also called on the peoples and components of Syrian society to stand up to the project of the Turkish state.
