Politicians urge Kurds to join hands together in repelling Turkish attacks

Turkish occupation state has continued to launch attacks on the legitimate defense areas in Başûr (Southern Kurdistan) since April 17, with the participation of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, after its heavy defeat in Gara on February 14 of the same year.

These genocide and occupation attacks came after the visit of the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, to Turkey on the 15th of April, and his meeting with the President of the occupying country, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and its intelligence chief, Hakan Fidan.

Commenting on this topic, the Kurdish politician and member of the Kurdistan National Congress (KNK), Suleiman Haj Ali, explained that it is not the first time that the KDP has been used by the Turkish occupying state, as a tool to launch attacks on legitimate defense areas, “as we witnessed the same movement in Gara and Avaşîn.”

Haj Ali referred to the reasons that prompt the Turkish occupation to launch continuous attacks on the legitimate defense areas in Başûr, saying: "Whenever the Turkish state enters into an internal crisis, it tries to export it abroad by launching attacks on areas outside its geography to achieve victory, directing the attention of its people to the outside, especially the presidential elections are around the corner.

Pointing to the attempts of the Turkish occupying state to implement the so-called " Misak-ı Millî" in Başûr, Mosul and other regions, by building military bases in Başûr, he said: "The construction of military bases in Başûr by Turkey is considered a new type of colonialism, unlike the old colonial processes. Which was accompanied by a direct attack with the army and equipment.”

Suleiman Haj Ali held the KDP responsible for the attacks on the legitimate defense areas in Başûr Kurdistan, saying: "We blame the KDP, which is linked to the Barzani family, which has deep relations with the Turkish state, and supports it in launching attacks on the People’s Defense Forces HPG who are fighting from for the rights and interests of the Kurdish people.

Haj Ali explained the goal of rapprochement and cooperation between the Turkish occupation state and the Kurdistan Democratic Party, "The Turkish state aims to strengthen relations with the PDK to cause intra- fighting between the Kurds and obliterate the Kurdish identity, while the PDK aims to achieve its personal interests by tightening its grip on the country's economy and the joints of governance."

Noting that the corruption that are spread in the Başûr institutions, saying,” The Barzani family controls the country's economy, and they transfer the people's money abroad. Each of them owns billions of dollars at the expense of the people in Başûr."

Haj Ali added, "The Barzani family has become their preoccupation with achieving their personal interests in cooperation with the Turkish occupation state at a time when the people of Başûr are suffering from poverty, in addition to the siege imposed on the Kurdish people by the Turkish occupation, whether in Rojava or within Başûr Kurdistan, which suffers from political divisions ,as a result of the policies of the ruling family,” he affirmed, “the rule in Başûr has become royal par excellence.”

Meanwhile, a member of the Central Committee of the Kurdish Leftist Party in Syria, Hussein Al-Ali, saw the attack of the Turkish occupation army as an exploitation of the Russian-Ukrainian war to occupy areas in Başûr Kurdistan or NE, Syria, and said: "But all its attempts failed in the face of the HPG resistance.”

He expressed his regret over the KDP's participation in the attacks on the legitimate defense zones, saying: "Unfortunately, there is support for the Turkish occupation state by the KDP by providing it with assistance in launching the attack on the legitimate defense zones, and handing it over many military points."

Al-Ali indicated that the goal of the Turkish occupation state in launching attacks on parts of Kurdistan is to break the will of the Kurdish people and obliterate their national identity at a time when the Kurds are trying to obtain their legitimate rights and take advantage of the current stage with objective, subjective conditions to serve their interests, and said: "The Turkish state is one of the most that stands in the face of the Kurdish issue and prevents it from moving forward."

Member of the Central Committee of the Kurdish Leftist Party in Syria, Hussein Al-Ali, stressed the need for the political forces in Başûr and Rojava to converge at this sensitive stage to achieve practical steps in the Kurdish issue, and said: "Not taking these steps means benefiting Turkey."
