​​​​​​​HDK: Turkish regime seeks to maintain its authority and existence through war

The Administrative Board of the Democratic Peoples’ Conference (HDK) issued a statement to the Turkish public opinion regarding the occupation attacks launched by the Turkish occupying state on the legitimate defense zone in Başûr, which stated:

“The Turkish regime seeks to continue its power and existence through its war policies, the AKP and the National Movement are again pinning their hopes on war and attacks because of the support they lack from the people day by day.

The statement continued, "This attack is not in the interest of the Turkish people and democracy, but rather in order to perpetuate the system of one-man power. How can those people who cannot eradicate poverty, hunger and crisis carry out these military attacks by land and air? While the AKP coalition and the MHP coalition use the tax imposed on workers and citizens is not on peace politics, but on war."

The statement stressed, "We are against this attack on the legitimate defense areas in Başûr, and we call on the peoples and democratic forces in Turkey to raise their voices against the war and take a serious and rejecting stance against these authorities."
