PYD congratulates the Yazidis on Red Wednesday

The Democratic Union Party congratulated the people of the Yazidi community at home and abroad on Çarşema Sor, hoping that it would be "the beginning of the end for terrorism and the firmans that targeted them to exterminate this ancient component of religion, history and human culture."

The General Council of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) issued a congratulatory message on the occasion of Red Wednesday (Çarşema Sor Yazidi New Year), which falls on Wednesday.

Its text stated:

On the occasion of the Yazidi New Year’s Day “Çarşema Sor” and the meanings of fraternity, peace and multiculturalism it represents, the General Council of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) presents our Yazidi people at home and abroad and to the whole of our Kurdish people with the best congratulations and blessings, wishing them well, security and safety. This holiday, which falls on 04-2022 of this year, is the beginning of the end for terrorism and the firmans that targeted them to exterminate this ancient component of religion, history and human culture.

The General Council of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) also wishes that this holiday - as it has always been - be a feast of love and brotherhood, and a catalyst for further struggle and resistance until the achievement of all the goals of our Kurdish people and their legitimate aspirations for a free life and decent living alongside other sects and components in brotherhood and peace.
