Bakr Hajj Issa: Afrin people face cultural and ethnic genocide

The speech of the co-chair of the Office of Diplomatic Relations of the Democratic Union Party in the Euphrates region, Bakr Haj Isa, came to ANHA’s agency, against the backdrop of ending the Turkish occupation, and preparing a new settlement in the village of Kharza of Janders district to settle the largest possible number of families from different Syrian regions, families of mercenaries, and families of different nationalities.

Bakr Hajj Issa said: "The authoritarian states that aim to exterminate peoples through their culture, heritage, civilization and history, are now annihilating the peoples of the region. The Syrian opposition, which was founded on the demand for change and democracy, is now doing what serves the interests of the Turkish state only,

He added: "We see that the people of Afrin are facing cultural and ethnic genocide in their areas without any movement or a strict stance by the countries of the world, the United Nations and humanitarian organizations, which illustrates their partnership in the crimes of Turkey and its mercenaries in the canton, as the number of settlements in Afrin is increasing by organizations called " The white Hands, "but we say that they are black hands that shed the blood of the Kurdish people."

Bakr denounced the support of Kuwaiti and Qatari associations for the Turkish state in building settlements in Afrin.

The co-chair of the Office of Diplomatic Relations of the Democratic Union Party in the Euphrates region, Bakr Haj Issa, asked about the position of the political parties regarding what is happening in Afrin and what the Kurdish people are exposed to, saying: "What is your position when you claim that you are working in accordance with the interests of the Kurdish people, and deepen your interests with the Turkish state ones who is changing the demographics of the Kurdish regions.” He also asked about the position of the Damascus Government regarding the crimes that are happening on its land, and about the position of the United Nations and the world’s countries regarding what Turkey is doing in the region.

Bakr Haj Issa stressed the Kurdish parties the need to stand by their people in Afrin, Serêkaniyê and Girê Spî, and the uprising in order to liberate their occupied areas to live in dignity and democracy on the land of Syria, with all components in Syria pluralism, decentralization and democracy.
