Turkish fascism sentences another year to a Kurdish detainee

The Kurdish citizen Redwan Suleiman was arrested on September 17, 1991, by the fascist Turkish state in the city of Van in Bakur Kurdistan, because of his support for the Kurdistan Freedom Movement, and during these years Redwan was transferred to 7 different prisons, and was subjected to torture and violations.

On September 5, 2021, the sentence imposed on him expired, but instead of releasing him, the fascist Turkish state sentenced him to 6 months in prison and this decision is out of court.

After the end of the 6-month sentence, Redwan Suleiman was transferred to the solitary confinement in a prison in Afyon, a prison known for its bad reputation, and now Redwan is imprisoned for another year.

About the issue, Redwan Suleiman's brother, Tawfiq Suleiman, spoke to our agency and said: "Radwan was transferred again to solitary cell on April 13. He will also not be able to communicate with us while he is there."

Tawfiq Suleiman indicated that they have been waiting for his brother's release for many years. Now another year has passed since they waited, pointing out that the Turkish state does not want to release him. He added, "We have tried a lot to appoint a lawyer, but due to security concerns, none of the lawyers accepted to appoint him."
