Luqman Ahme: Sheikh Maqsud-Ashrefiye blockade amounts to war crimes

In an interview on the blockade imposed on Aleppo's two quarters of Sheikh Maqsud and Ashrefiye ANHA met ,Luqman Ahme spokesperson for the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, who said: ''practices of the Syrian government are not strange, the policy of blockade against most of cities that revolted against it. It could not benefit from these policies that all tyrannies underwent''. 

Luqman said ''the aim of this policy by the Syrian government is to subvert the people of Sheikh Maqsud and Ashrefiye via starvation, but all experiments proved that these policies fell to the ground, rather on the contrary, it created more rejection. It is strange that an authority claims that it represents the Syrian sovereignty and the Syrian people, adopts the starvation policy and blockades the people just to accept its authority''.  

Ahme went on to say ''even in battles and wars and according to the human and international law this policy is considered a war crime, there are 200 thousand Syrian civilians that the Damascus authority adopts the starvation policy against them, this idea is rejected by the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria. 

Spokesperson of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria said the Syrian government ought to adopt the Intra-Syrian dialogue, than to impose blockade on the Syrian people. It should find a solution to the eleven years old crisis that is sweeping the country. Without any dialogue or a political solution the Syrian government cannot prevail its authority on the Syrian territories, and it cannot convince the Syrian people of this authority''.

''we, in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, see that the sole way to solve the crisis in the country is to adopt dialogue where all active Syrian parts take part in the process. A process that meets the aspirations and goals sought by the Syrian people representing all components''. 

Ahme indicated that the policies adopted against the peoples of the Sheikh Maqsud and the Ashrefiye two quarters in the city of Aleppo is a starvation policy, because the majority of their residents are Kurds and this is a hard proof that the Syrian government does accept other ideas and embraces such a policy''. 

Luqman Ahme, spokesperson of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, concluded by saying '' we well know that this policy would result in nothing because the quarters under blockade are abided by an political idea to administer their regions and they are well determined that this project is the founding stone for a solution to the Syrian crisis''.
