Kurdistan Workers' removal campaign from "terror" list in Şengal collects 40446 signatures

A campaign to remove the PKK from the "terror" list was launched in Şengal at the beginning of last March, while the campaign concluded today with a statement. It revealed that 40446 thousand signatures were collected.

The International Kurdish Justice Initiative has announced a signature campaign targeting 4 million signatures across Europe to remove the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) from the list of "terrorist organizations". The campaign was launched with the participation of a thousand intellectuals, academics, politicians, scientists, artists and activists. People of Şengal also participated in the campaign, collecting signatures since early March. In a month, 40,446 signatures were collected in Shingal.

A statement was issued today in the presence of the families of the martyrs, members of the Autonomous Administration in Şengal, members of the Yazidi Women's Freedom Movement, and Şengal institutions and organizations, regarding the results of the campaign.

The statement was read by Hamid Bashar, spokesman for the Martyrs' Families Foundation, and confirmed that they, as a Yazidi community, will continue to work for the release of leader Ocalan. The statement continued: “In order to remove the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) from the terrorist list, as the Foundation of the Families of the Şengal Martyrs, we considered it our duty to seek and collect signatures in Şengal. We have collected 40,446 signatures from the Yazidi community.”

The statement concluded by chanting the slogan, “No life Without the Leader,” and “our Martyrs are Alive."

In conclusion, the Autonomous Administration of Shingal honored the families of the martyrs.
