Kongra Star congratulates Akito Day

Kongra Star congratulated the arrival of the Akito Festival on the Syriac, Assyrian, Chaldean, and all the peoples of northern and eastern Syria, wishing that peace would prevail on this feast all over Syria.

This came during a congratulatory message issued by Kongra Star on the occasion of the Akito Day, in which he said:

“We at Kongra Star are pleased to extend our warmest congratulations and blessings on the occasion of the Assyrian New Year’s Day (Akito) on April 1 of each year, this feast in which the depth of the historical and civilized identity of an ancient people that has preserved their originality and nationalism despite all policies, genocides and ethnic cleansing is evident. It was subjected to by the authoritarian regimes, but today it is renewed like spring. We celebrate together in an atmosphere of freedom and democracy. We consider all the holidays of the components in northeastern Syria to be national holidays for all.”

On this holiday, we hope that peace will prevail in all parts of Syria and the world, and that the hopes and aspirations of the peoples will be fulfilled.
