TEV-DEM: Newroz 2022 for the announcement a new stage for political detainees’ freedom

TEV-DEM issued a written statement on the occasion of Newroz 2022, in which it said:

“In the spirit of the victory of the Resistance of the Hammer of the Peoples, we extend our congratulations on the advent of Newroz this year to the whole of our Kurdistan people, to all the peoples of Mesopotamia, to all the components of the region, to all the families of the freedom martyrs, to all the political detainees and fighters on the fronts of honor and dignity, units and forces (SDF-YPG-YPJ)

Our Kurdish people and all the peoples of the region celebrate this year the triumphant golden fiftieth of Newroz, the leader Abdullah Ocalan, at a stage in which the will of the people is heading towards crowning the final victory thanks to the sacrifices and resistance shown by our people from the mountains to the prisons and from the cities to the squares throughout Kurdistan and the world against injustice and tyranny of the occupiers.

Newroz is considered a new day and one of the oldest and most enduring national holidays throughout history. It has a long historical legacy of resistance and struggle. It expresses the reality of the solidarity and unity of all societal cultures in Mesopotamia against the most powerful dictatorships and oppressors of that era, trying to exterminate peoples, obliterate their identities and deny their culture, but the societal will triumphed.

The symbolism of the sacred flame of the fire of all the peoples of Mesopotamia, which symbolizes the real victory and has become a value of moral and national values and the birth of a new culture. It is the culture of resistance, the life that ends injustice and slavery and defeats occupation.

In the spirit of Newroz 2022 and coinciding with the campaign "The stage is the stage of freedom, let us make Newroz this year a Newroz for the freedom of Leader Abo and all the political detainees" and the freedom of the people's will in north and east Syria and the liberation of all occupied areas of Afrin, Serêkaniyê, Tal Abyed and the rest of the regions from the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries.

We in the Democratic Society Movement TEV-DEM congratulate you once again on this new Newroz, and we are confident in our people of Kurdistan everywhere and all the peoples of the region to join and participate in the celebrations of Newroz this year with great responsibility, pride and greatness, the victories and achievements of the resistance of the People’s Hammer.
