​​​​​​​Dire situation and martyrs due to Turkish shelling in Ain Issa

During the past two months, the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries escalated their attacks on the outskirts of Ain Issa district and its countryside, in addition to the M4 international road, using tanks, missiles and artillery.

The Turkish occupation expanded its bombardment this time, targeting for the first time villages in the eastern and western countryside of Ain Issa district, which are the villages of "Al-Sweed, Saleh Al-Hamoud, Al-Alimat", which caused a number of martyrs and wounded in those villages.

ANHAs’ agency, through its following of the attacks on the district, documented the martyrdom of two citizens and the injury of 11 others, including children and women.

The martyrdom of a citizen and the wounding of 4 others in the Turkish bombardment that targeted the village of Saleh Al-Hamoud (2 km east of the district) on January 22, was documented. They are: Saleh Mohammad al-Hamoud (22 years), Mohammad Saleh Hamoud (45 years), Abdul Rahim Hamoud (40 years old), Hassan Mohammad (20 years old), and the child Abdul Rahim Saleh Al Hamoud (14 years old).

On the next day, the Turkish occupier targeted the village of Al-Alimat (4 km west of the district), injuring 4 citizens: Nabil Al-Taleb, two years old, Raghad Mohammad Ali (15 years old), Suha Al-Fayyad (20 years old), and Baraa Hussein (18 years)."

In this regard, the co-chair of the Girê Spî district council, Hamid Al-Abed, criticized the silence of the Russian guarantor regarding the attacks that affect the populated areas located on the front lines in both Girê Spî and Ain Issa district.

He explained that the severity of the attacks on the district increased in conjunction with the ISIS cells' attack on Geweran prison in the city of Hasaka, which indicates Turkish support for the activities of these cells that are seeking to destabilize the security and stability of the region.

At the conclusion of his speech, Hamid Al-Abed called on the international community to intervene and restrain Turkey and deter it from targeting the people in their safe areas and villages in north and east Syria, in accordance with international agreements and laws that guarantee the protection of civilians.

The direct Turkish bombardment on the villages of the eastern countryside of Ain Issa district has caused the displacement of 53 families from the villages of "Al-Sweed, Al-Fatsa, Al-Msherfa", who were received in the Girê Spi displaced camp temporarily, until the remnants of the unexploded shells are removed from the vicinity of their homes.

Fatim al-Hamad, one of the citizens who fled with her children to the camp from the village of Al-Sweed, said that the shells targeted them directly, and there are shells around her house that have not exploded until now.

It should be noted that the recent Turkish bombardment also targeted vital and service facilities in the countryside of the district, causing material damage and breaking down some of them out of service, the most important of which are the Al Heisha and Al Fatsa water stations.
