Activities of signature-collecting tent concluded in Manbij to remove PKK from “terror list”

The Syrian Revolutionary Youth Movement and the Young Women's Union in the city of Manbij concluded a tent for collecting signatures as part of the popular initiative campaign to demand the removal of the name of the Kurdistan Workers' Party from the "terror list" by making a statement that emphasized that activities would continue to remove the party's name from the list.

The statement was read by the joint head of the Youth Movement in Manbij and its countryside, Ahmed Al-Jumaili, in the presence of members of the Youth Movement and the Young Women’s Union in Manbij, in front of the sit-in tent in the public square in the city center.

The text of the statement reads:

"We the Youth Movement and the Young Women's Union in Manbij set up this tent to collect signatures to remove the name of the PKK from the terrorist list, and during the days of erecting the tent, hundreds of signatures were collected because the people of Manbij are well aware and know that the PKK is not a terrorist party, contrary to what the Turkish fascist state claims.

Terrorism is represented by the Turkish state, which is always trying and seeking to occupy more of the Syrian lands and its neighboring countries, and we in the Revolutionary Youth Movement and the Young Women’s Union announced on February 6, 2022 our joining this campaign, and it was within our program to invite civil administrations, military councils, political parties and civil society organizations In Manbij to participate.

We know very well that Turkey has classified the PKK as a terrorist party to legitimize the killing of Kurds and other components inside Turkey who come out to oppose the violence practiced by the Turkish state.

From here, we will continue this campaign even after the end of the signature tent for days and months until we reach our goal and remove the name of the PKK from the terrorist list.”
