PYD calls on International Community, guarantor powers to clarify their stance against Turkey's crimes

PYD's General Council issued a written statement regarding the Turkish attacks on Şengal, Maxmur and Derik, the statement read:

"The Turkish occupation did not live up to victories of the Syrian Democratic Forces over ISIS in Al-Sina’a prison a few days ago; In order to reaffirm its close relationship with the terrorist organization ISIS, it attacked our people and struck civil peace and stability to raise ISIS’s morale again after their defeat in People’s Hammer Campaign.

"In continuation of its approach in exterminating the Kurdish people, the Turkish occupation launched military attacks on areas of "Maxmur camp", "Rojava", "şengal" and "Al-Shahba" yesterday evening", it added.

The statement stated that the Turkish treacherous attack on the power stations and the safe villages in Derik and Şengal only indicates that the Turkish fascism continues in its aggression and annihilation against the Kurdish people, and destruction of infrastructure and services for the peoples of the region, indifferent to international charters and principles humanity, Turkish fascism crimes against peoples of NE Syria amount to international crimes, genocides and major massacres, this puts the International Community and the guarantor states in a real test, whether they support or oppose these crimes."

The General Council of PYD, at the conclusion, called on the International Community to clarify its position on these attacks, by saying “We in the General Council of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), demand the International Community to clarify its stance against the Turkish crimes, and the guarantor countries to curb the Turkish occupation and its brutal barbaric attacks towards the peoples of North and East Syria, we also call upon our resisting people to escalate the struggle because it is our primary way to stand against the Turkish occupation crimes .”
