​​​​​​​AANES: What happened in Hasakah Prison is dangerous plot

On Tuesday, AANES issued statement to public opinion, in which touched upon to ISIS attack on Sina’a Prison, demanding from the international community to assume its responsibility.

The statement was attended by the co-chair of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, Abdul Hamid Al-Mahbash, the co-chairs of the Autonomous Administration of Jazira, Talaat Younes and Nazira Gawriya, the co-chair of the Interior Commission in Jazira , Kanaan Barakat, the co-chair of the al-Hasaka Canton Council, Samar Al-Abdullah, and a number of other administrators.

The Autonomous Administration, during its statement, which was delivered by the co-chair of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, Berivan Khaled, confirmed that the great and new victory against ISIS is an extension of all the heroic epics that the people of North and East Syria led against terrorism with redemption.

The statement reads:

“Firstly, in the name of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, we extend our congratulations and blessings to all of our people with all its components on the great and new victory that befell ISIS, as this victory is an extension of all the heroic epics that our people led against terrorism with redemption, and at the same time we remember the martyrs and pay tribute to  their sacrifices, we offer our condolences to their families and to all our people, and we wish a speedy recovery to the wounded.”

The statement touched upon the enduring threat posed by ISIS, after liberating al-Bagouz town, and heavy burden left behind ISIS on March, 2019 and the announcement of SDF with collaboration of Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS the great victory on ISIS militarily and elimination its alleged state, after making great sacrifices by SDF, YPJ, Internal Security Forces in which 12,000 had been martyred and 25, 000 wounded among them permanent disabilities, in the face of this terrorist organization, in defense of all humanity, from the battle of Kobani to al-Baghouz until the events of Sina’a Prison in al-Hasakah City.

The problem of terrorism continued through dozens of sleeper cells, in addition to the spread of its terrorist ideology in the areas that remained under its control for years, as well as the Autonomous Administration faced the problem of about 12,000 ISIS mercenaries, including about 2,000 Iraqis and 2,000 others from more than fifty countries, 8,000 Syrians and tens of thousands of their families are in al-Hol and Roj Camps, and despite the limited capabilities, the Autonomous Administration and the Syrian Democratic Forces have kept them in safe places, in conjunction with the ongoing campaigns against terrorist cells and the arrest of others, which increases the burden on the Autonomous Administration.

'Confronting ISIS is a problem for the entire international community'

The Autonomous Administration has always stressed that “this dangerous and complex file, which is one of the repercussions of the international campaign against ISIS, is a problem that concerns the entire international community and must be confronted through coordination between them and the Autonomous Administration, and it is too big for the new administration to face alone, so an international court must be formed.” Or a court of an international character in north and east Syria, in order for justice to take its course, as well as for countries that have citizens affiliated with the terrorist organization to bear their responsibilities, by deporting their citizens, especially children and women, for trial and then integrating them into their basic societies and rehabilitating them, as well as supporting the Autonomous Administration to get children out of unhealthy places and environments to rehabilitate them, in addition to improving the security and humanitarian situation of camps and detention centers, pending the resolution of this dilemma.”

'What happened in Sina’a Prison is the result of the international community's failure to shoulder its responsibilities'

The Autonomous Administration confirmed that what happened in Sina’a Prison “is the result of the international community’s failure to shoulder its responsibilities, and said that it happened by planning, starting from the areas occupied by Turkey.” There are daily killings, slaughter, and burning of tents and others in al-Hol Camp, or what happened on January 20^th, when 200 mercenaries from ISIS terrorists targeted al-Sina’a Prison in al-Hasakah with a complex and dangerous operation.

The Autonomous Administration confirmed that the planning of the attack on al-Sina’a Prison took place outside the Syrian borders, “it was planned and prepared outside the borders, starting from the occupied areas by Turkey and with the support of groups coming from the Iraqi borders and some sleeper cells in the area in order to revive ISIS again, spread chaos and strike the components of the region.” At a time when the Autonomous Administration was facing this terrorist organization inside the prison and in the surrounding areas, and with the purpose of distracting our forces and making room for the terrorists to escape, the Turkish forces and their mercenaries began targeting defenseless civilians in the Ain Issa area through artillery shelling and the ground attack of Turkey’s mercenaries, in addition to the attempt of the Damascus Government and the so-called Erdogan coalition to exploit this situation and accuse the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Global Coalition of committing crimes and carrying out demographic change operations and others, in order to undermine the Autonomous Administration and support the terrorists, and also create ethnic strife between the components of the region.

Those forces must reconsider their lost policies that only serve to revive terrorism. With the sacrifices made by our people with all its components, their solidarity and their support for our military forces; This criminal scheme was thwarted and the situation under control was announced on the same day as the liberation of Kobani, so that history would repeat itself again and defeat terrorism and all its supporters and beneficiaries.”

The statement called for concerted efforts from the international community and the Global Coalition to confront the challenges and eliminate terrorism, and demanded, "In this context, and to confront these challenges and eliminate terrorism, the international community and our partners in the Global Coalition must join forces on the one hand:

First - Increasing the military support of the Syrian Democratic Forces, the Internal Security Forces and the security authorities, in terms of technology and the necessary supplies to confront the threat of terrorism and ISIS terrorist cells.

Second - The formation of an international court or a court of an international character in NE, Syria to try criminals so that justice may take its course.

Third - Each country that has citizens in north and east Syria shall assume its responsibilities, return its citizens, including fighters, women and children, or provide support to the Autonomous Administration to improve service and security conditions in camps and prisons, and thus rehabilitate them and integrate them into their basic communities and prosecute those women whose convictions are proven.

Fourth - Providing economic support to NE, Syria, and excluding the region from Caesar's Law, in order to develop the service reality and support the education and health sector to block the path of ISIS attempts, and to exploit this aspect in the operations of cell recruitment and ideological organization.

Fifth - Increasing relief and humanitarian support and working to reconsider the decision to close the Tel Kocher Crossing, because the humanitarian aid that comes from the international community through United Nations organizations through Damascus, only a few arrive from. As an example, the United Nations says that it recently sent 36 trucks to al-Hasakah to support the area as a result of the al-Hasakah prison incidents, but nothing arrived from it and all of which were distributed to the security square controlled by the regime in Qamishlo.

Sixth - Supporting the Autonomous Administration politically, intensifying efforts to support stability in the region, putting pressure on the Turkish occupation state to withdraw from the occupied areas, which have become a haven for terrorists, and stopping its continuous aggression through ground attack and artillery bombardment and the use of drones to target defenseless civilians, which aim to support terrorism and destabilize region stability.

Seventh - Providing support to the Autonomous Administration to build rehabilitation centers for children and to improve security and humanitarian conditions inside prisons and camps.

The statement concluded by praising the role of the people of north and east Syria, who showed awareness and stood by the military and security forces, and paid tribute and respect to the forces that stood in the face of terrorism. The Arab tribes and the rest of the components of our people who were aware of what is happening and stood by the Autonomous Administration and its military and security forces against terrorism, aware of the dangers of the return of ISIS in particular, and that many of them lived with ISIS’s bitter experience.

In its statement, the Autonomous Administration also thanked our people in al-Hasakah in general and our people in the neighborhoods of Geweran and al-Zuhur particular for their cooperation with the military forces, and we remember the civilian martyrs among them, stressing in the Autonomous Administration to secure the return of our people who were displaced from the neighborhoods of Geweran and al-Zuhur due to ISIS terrorism. This coincides with the establishment of the concerned institutions in the Autonomous Administration to provide the necessary support and needs to them.
