KNK : Turkey should be isolated, prosecuted internationally for its support ISIS

The Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) stressed the need to isolate the Turkish state politically and diplomatically, and prosecute it internationally as a result of its support for ISIS, calling for an official recognition of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria.

KNK in a statement on Thursday, stressed that there is a need for international support to eliminate the threats of ISIS and its sleeper cells, calling on global powers to fulfil their responsibilities to curb this terrorism.

The conference clarified that ISIS attacks and its sleeper cells against Al- Sina'a prison which contains 5,000 detainees of mercenaries, came in conjunction with the seventh anniversary of the liberation of Kobani, and posed a threat against the Syrian people.

KNK stated that ISIS launched an attack on January 20 against Al-Sina’a prison in Al-Hasaka city in an attempt to freed its detained mercenaries, and said: “This large and coordinated escape attempt was made with support of local forces, such as Syrian regime which had an active role in these attacks through ignoring movements of ISIS.

The Turkish occupation army deployed warplanes and drones against the Syrian Democratic Forces (QSD) and sent hundreds of jihadist mercenaries from the occupied Serêkaniyê and Girê Spî to villages of Al-Hasakah in attempt to support ISIS.

The Kurdistan National Congress indicated that the countries whose citizens belong to ISIS refused to return and try them there, leaving them like a time bomb in North and East Syria, these countries, instead of supporting the Syrian Democratic Forces, they held agreements and interests with the Turkish state that militarily supports ISIS.

KNK stated : "Therefore, any country that sincerely wants to put an end to this ISIS threat must take immediate measures to reduce it and show a clear position against theTurkish regime."

We call on the United Nations, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), the International Coalition to Fight ISIS, the European Union, the African Union and the Arab League to do the following:

1-Facilitate the repatriation of their citizens who have joined ISIS, or support the establishment of an international tribunal to try them for their crimes.

2- Isolate the Turkish state politically and diplomatically, and bring it before an international tribunal for its past and present sponsorship for ISIS.

3- Increase support for the AANES and grant official recognition to the AANES.
