Ahmed: Our priorty in 2022 is to liberate occupied territories

Ahmed said about her 2021 assessment that in the midst of war and conflict there was a process of rebuilding their forces.

Ahmed indicated that the situation of the occupied territories will not continue in this way for a long time and said, "This situation will lead to explosion. This Turkish occupation cannot be accepted by anyone."

 The Turkish state’s drone attacks increased in 2021 in particular.  About these attacks, she said that the Turkish state is trying to provoke them to attack it in order to have an excuse to launch expanded attack.

 A member of the General Command of the Syrian Democratic Forces, Nowruz Ahmed, assessed to our agency the developments 2021 and said that the attacks of the Turkish state will continue in this way;  Because the international powers have not taken any position.

 * In the beginning, how did 2021 pass in terms of attacks and defense?

 Although no large-scale military attacks took place against our region during 2021, we can assess it as a phase of war, because the attacks and threats of the Turkish state did not stop.  Several ground and air attacks were carried out during the year.  On the other hand, this year also witnessed attacks by ISIS.

 There were also planned attacks, but were met with very strong resistance.  The security forces responded.  Several people were arrested.  Many car bombs were disabled and many operations were thwarted.  It was an important and a new stage for our forces.

 The Turkish state and ISIS mercenaries changed the methods of war, but our forces also moved with great experience and involvement in the battles.  The level of our fighters has progressed  militarily, tactically and specializedly, and the academies that have been opened have had a very big impact.  This position enhanced the quality of our forces. Our forces have also evolved in terms of leading battles, enriching tactics, enhancing tactics and rebuilding oneself vis modern warfare style.

2021 was a period of rebuilding for us

 * What impact did your training have on renewing your struggle ?

 These exercises had very positive results in the battles.  The operations carried out, the future vision and the foiling of the plans of the occupiers were some of the training results.  There are many areas to be completed but a significant level has been covered.  A shift has been made in terms of quality and quantity as well.  Besides wars and conflicts, 2021 was a period of reconstruction.  More reinforcement and construction was carried out in our public system in the Syrian Democratic Forces.  Our annual meeting was delayed due to the battles and the Corona virus, but it was an important meeting.

 Despite all the hardships, our goal is to strengthen and complete the missing aspects.

 * In the attacks on the region, citizens were specifically targeted.  Drones targeted avant-garde figures in society green lighted by the international powers.  Drone attacks have also increased even more this year.  Why? And how do you evaluate the targeting of this Kurdish personalities?

 The Turkish state has tried many times to occupy some areas and intimadate the people to flee away.  Indeed, it always wanted to show this in her media as a victory, doing the opposite of the facts to make it appear that we were the ones who attacked her.  The special war was in force in a very strong way. Despite all this, the AKP and MHP regime could not withstand and their attempts were in vain.  They used drones in particular in 2021.

 The enemy changed the attack tactic

 This was a new offensive tactic.  It used it as an indiscriminate attack method against the civilians.  This shows the weakness of the occupying Turkish state, which in its attacks targeted many civilians.  The Turkish state wanted to use this method because it did not achieve any results.

 Despite all the attacks, the people refused any life that did not guarantee their existence and culture

They targeted our people who made a great effort to break the administration.  They wanted to plant fear in the hearts of the people by sending a message that “ we will target you,” and make them back off.  They wanted to clear the area of ​​civilians.

 It applies these policies in the occupied territories as well.  It cannot launch extended attacks directly, so it moves according to these methods in Shingal, Bakur, and Başûr via drones.

 Despite all the attacks, the people rejected life of slavery and free will cannot be accepted.  Uncle Yusef was targeted and millions of people rose up.  They targeted our youth, and thousands of young people adopted the cause of these martyrs.  The people took the necessary stand against the attacks, and made the necessary message clear.  Escalating the resistance and adopting the cause of the martyrs are necessary for all of us.

 * As you mentioned;  Recently, five citizens of Kobani were martyred in a drone attack.  Everyone knows that international powers control the airspace.  How do you evaluate the latest Kobani attack?  Why did such attacks increase in Kobani, and what do you say about the position of the international powers?

 Our entire cities lie on the border line and are a constant target of attacks.  Kobani was the most threatened area by the Turkish state, which publicly mentioned this during the ISIS war, and said about it “It fell, it will fall.” After that, its threats continued to develop its attacks with different methods.  Its goal is to completely occupy our borders.  Kobane is the target of their plans.  They mentioned this plan in international meetings as well.

 The Turkish state derives its courage from the position of international powers.  There must be a clear position.  With these attacks, it strengthens the mercenary groups further.  While we are thwarting the mercenary attacks on our areas, camps and places of detention of ISIS detainees, the Turkish state is attacking, as it has committed many massacres throughout history, doing the same today as well.

 If no international action is taken, the attacks will continue

 The revolutionary youth movement did not pose any threat to the Turkish state but some parties did not take any firm stance against the Turkish state for the sake of their interests.  The latter has turned our region into a region where mercenaries organize activate, this poses a great danger to our regions and the world at large, requiring a decisive stance and struggle.

 If this is not done with a comprehensive and international stance, the Turkish state will continue its attacks, and will deceive everyone with its false statements claiming that there is a threat to it, and that it has the right to protect its borders.  It recently targeted Al-Shabiba and claims that they were preparing to attack, and it wants to convince everyone of these reports.  Everyone knows that she is wrong, but they have not yet taken the necessary position.  Once again, we repeat that our struggle will continue at all levels.

 * The ceasefire process has been violated many times and attempts have been made to occupy new areas.  Why are the monitors of this agreement turning a blind eye?  Can this situation continue in this way?

 Since the signing of the agreement until now, the attacks have never stopped.  These forces say that there is an agreement in place and that everyone must act according to it when they wish to do so.  But when this is not in line with their interests, especially when the Turkish state is the one who launches the attacks, they show that it has the right to do so.  Indeed, they say at every opportunity that the agreement has been reached and that there are some places that should have been controlled.  In their opinion, the entire area should have been occupied.  So they set a time for that.  naturally;  The attacks are not only launched on the areas that the Turkish state says it will control, but all of our areas.

The current situation will last for long.  The Turkish state does this to push us to attack to have pretext for it.  It is provoking us.  The Turkish state benefits from this situation.

 There is no basis for a solution to this situation in this way.  The situation is very dangerous.  The Syrian crisis is twice as large as the global crisis.  They want to prolong this stage, and this serves no one.  The mercenary groups, ISIS, and the Turkish state benefit from this, as their presence has been established in the region for a longer period. Our call to the forces in the region and the world powers is to read this situation well and provide a solution together.

 * It can be said that during this year the attacks continued in all regions without interruption.  However, Ain Issa and Tal Tamr have been particularly violently attacked.  Even the attacks on Ain Issa continued for months.  First, why these areas were specifically targeted.  What was the background to this scheme?  Second, what was the result achieved by the resistance that emerged against the attacks in these areas and the new tactics at the military level?

 Civilian areas such as Ain Issa and its villages and Tal Tamr and its villages were particularly targeted.  They want to vacate the area and expand their occupation in this way, control the M4 road and tighten their control over the area.  The resistance of our people and our fighters was very fierce.  The continuation of these attacks poses a threat to the region.  They have deployed mercenary groups in these areas.  The mercenaries transport the car bombs and their ammunition to our areas.  They are specifically targeting these areas as a first step.

 We need to develop ourselves as much as the enemy attacks against us

 Our revolution was founded from the beginning with the capabilities of the people.   We are fighting against the most advanced technologies with deep thinking, a new mindset, a new readiness and a new leadership style.  In this way we achieved richness and creativity.  At every opportunity, the Turkish state says, "Who is providing these technologies and ideas to them?"

Some powers provided support in the war against the ISIS. The fighting was different. Today we are subject to Turkish state attacks in which all its advanced techniques are used. Of course, our defenses must also be different. The stage was a process and ready for us too. Without doubt we must strengthen our capabilities as far as enemy attacks on us.

 Occupied areas  situation is very bad. The crisis there is not worse than the internal crisis of the Turkish state. The mercenaries clashes daily. Our deducted people live in very bad conditions. This situation will lead to an explosion, and no one accepts these occupiers.

* You have mentioned Sere kaniye, Gire Spî and Afrin that resist back to their cities. What are your plans to liberate these areas this year?

Our displaced people want their homes to be liberated.  Our main task in 2022 is to liberate these areas, and we will do our best to liberate our areas during the current year, and we will escalate our struggle further.

The struggle against the mercenaries requires us to liberate these areas, and we must eliminate any place where mercenaries can organize themselves, and therefore there is a necessity for a common struggle.  This is not related to us alone.  So we will work more with the forces that are here and we should be more active politically and diplomatically.  The most powerful defense is to break the occupation.  We will escalate our struggle more than ever.  We can defeat the occupation through a decisive and common struggle between our military forces and our people.

 * In your opinion, what will the year 2022 be for the peoples of northern and eastern Syria?  In conclusion, what are the goals that you hope to achieve in the new year?

 Of course, we, like our people, want this year to be a year of stability, peace and freedom.  With clashes and attacks, they make New Year's Days and all holidays painful for the areas in which we live.  This is not a destiny written on our people, we must change that.  Children in our regions have the right to celebrate these days with joy and enthusiasm, like all children in the world.  This can happen through struggle.

 We hope for stability and peace, but in the last moments of this year we face daily attacks.  The threat to the region, the attacks they launch and the threats they pose, show that they will intensify their attacks and clashes during the current year.

 The Turkish state will try to intensify its attacks, we must prepare for a violent and fierce war.  The military forces were specially prepared on this basis.  This is our primary and complete mission of stabilization.  If we act with our people in this way, victory will be ours.

 We congratulate all our peoples on this year and we will make this year an occasion to escalate the struggle so that we can achieve victory.  On this occasion, we bow to the martyrs of freedom and say that we will fulfill their hopes.
